Bronies are everywhere!

by
Copied from a reply on dA somewhat.

I got the message on EqD that the Lyra and Trixie toys were available for order on Kmart.com.  I thought I'd give it a shot despite the known issues. It was mentioned that Kmart has a history of sending substitute toys. So I tried ordering for in-store pickup. The nearest Kmart is in Pennsylvania but in the same plaza as an awesome Perkins and the second-best Dollar Tree in the region. It's also easy to combine the trip with one of the few real army surplus stores still in business. I haven't got my Trixie in hoof yet but had a much better experience.

I placed an order for 'Heartstrings' and Trixie Lulamoon and gave them my home number.  I got a message on my machine. Somepony named Will said they didn't have 'Lyra' and Trixie in stock and would you, um, want a substitution. He made the last bit sound distasteful, which it is. I snickered at the message. He definitely said Lyra, not Heartstrings. Brony! When I called back Will was on his lunch but I got a nice lady in the toy department who said I should cancel the order and she would hold the toys and call me when they actually come in. She was very nice about it. I also got one of those emails saying they're no longer available. I'm sure they will be eventually.

So when they actually hit the store I'm heading down for a nice breakfast at Perkins, ponies, military gear, and some sales-tax free clothes in PA. Still, this bait-and-switch tactic by Kmart sucks something Cranky has hanging under his tail.

I do have a Trixie custom I repainted using a Rarity as bait but still haven't rehaired. I did make her a stylin' outfit and it should fit the canon Trixie or any other brushable unicorn so she'll be both great and powerful once I get her.

Awesome~! ish, that is. The Lyra bit was sweet.  I listen to LULZ's "Pull up to Da Target" nearly everyday, myself, but have yet to actually get a pony. I'm too a-scared. Maybe I'll run into a brony cashier, myself, though. Or just order one online.

The guy did sound a bit uncertain.  If he'd called the pony Lyra to a clueless parent ordering for an actual little girl he might have been confused.  Little girls play with ponies too, right?

Is it so hard to buy a pony?  It's true they do lurk in the dreaded pink aisle of doom at Target.

Well, it's more a combo of guilty pleasure and fear of using/losing an excuse and being ostracized by strangers that truthfully, you'll likel never see again, but that's not what your mind tells you. CNN is going to be reporting in that exact store on that exact day, lol. It's silly, but, then agan, most social anxieties are if you sit and rationalize them out.

Eeh.  I don't worry about that much anymore.  What's really great is when you're supposed to do a nature program with kids at a school and when you arrive the cemetery across the road is full of media trucks from CNN, NBC, Fox, BBC, and all the rest.  Why?  Because the dirtbag security guard who worked an antique show you were involved with, and who stole fifteen pounds of provalone from the catering table, which got him fired, had harassed a 14 year old girl about her period at the school.  So you end up telling a reporter from Fox that the guy stole provalone from a charity antique sale.  Who does that, seriously?  That's a true story and totally weird.  I think of it whenever I drive by.  The cemetery put up big no parking signs after the incident.

I'm looking forward to Bronycon (formerly BroNYCon) and the Brony documentary John DeLancie is involved with.  It should be really interesting.  It's one of those things that can get an honest view of a fandom out there like Trekkies did for Trek fandom.

That's nice! I hope to run into another fan whenever the new ponies are out in stores here.

I've already met a pegasister employee at Toys-R-Us when they had the BOGO on ponies.  The place was a zoo and she opened a register for me in the video game section.

Yep and i show cased them on the Australian Bronycast Livestream show even though all four come with the same episode which shouldn't be a surprise seeing as the HUB has been making the DVD's for the toys. In other news the Australian Bronys are getting all of Season 1 on DVD with a nice little Collectors box if you were lucky enough to Pre-order it from Ezy DVD website.

I saw the story about the DVDs.  I can't wait until there's a Brony Box available for Region 1.  Not that I don't have thumb drives with both seasons on them but true fans buy the stuff too.

Sadly there won't be Box Set release of Season 1 in the States seeing as it would be alittle late cause they would have bring out Season 2 at the same time best way is to get from Australia and i have both Season 1 and 2 sitting on my PS3
