Ori and the Will of the Wisps

So I uhh...
Finished "Ori and the Will of the Wisps"
Hoo...boy...

Some thoughts:
1: Whoever was chopping onions next to me during the ending - not cool.
2: Going to need to make sure the heart strings are fine, cuz Hot-Damn there was a lot of pulling.

Silliness aside, I must say that this game is a wonderful follow-up to "Ori and the Blind Forest". There is a lot that is familiar, which made me feel "Yeeeei, Oriiiii!"... and at the same time quite a nice bit that was new and fresh. I went in with the expectation of finding some new music I can fall in love with and play it over and over again until my brain shuts down... and well - Mr. Gareth Coker delivered.
The game still has the Ori difficulty, which at times may frustrate you (*cough* the Spirit Trials *cough*) but usually you know it is entirely your own fault... and hooo boy does it feel good once you succeed. (Also the aforementioned Spirit Trials aren't even required for completing the story mode, so I don't know what I'm complaining about).

Did you enjoy the spectacularly big escape sequences of Ori and the Blind Forest? Well how about we pair it up... with legit boss battles! Now you're an agile escape-artist... with a vengeance!
Liked the cuteness of Ori and the other spirits? Then how about we throw in some extra cuteness with the Moki!
Got a little bit annoyed by getting from A to B, then all the way to Z to get something you missed? BOOM, beam me up Ori, we have fast-travel.

So yea.
TL/DR : It is an amazing follow-up to the last game that is DEFINITELY worth the price.

Glad you liked the game, I still feel sorry for Shriek. I wonder how things could have changed if the owls had accepted her like the hatchlings had. Her being a force of good for the island. It could have changed a few things. The ending was a punch in the gut to be sure. It does open up some fun things they could do for the future.

The game was so beautiful. I enjoyed it all. Made me feel sad yet happy at some moments. I think my favorite parts are the abilities you have some of them are cool when you can unlock them finally and travers the area better. I try to get to many secrets and it's always a fun challenge. Only found one glitch but it wasnt a huge deal.

Fast travel was added in Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition tho!

I didn't like the ending all that much, it felt too cruel and depressing, both for Shriek as well as Ori's foster family. The twist with Ori's fate actually made me go WTF at the end, and it sort of implies that there will be no further games in the immediate franchise, which sucks. It made me feel depressed, but somehow didn't bring out tears like the first game did.

I hope that they will at least make more games set in this universe, but the Moon studio appears to be working on a new RPG right now, so unless they decided to change the format, it is unlikely we'll see a new installment of spirit adventures anytime soon...

Oh, was it? Wasn't it still only if you went to one of the wells? I don't recall too well, but I was still pleasantly surprised I could teleport to any well from anywhere.

I didn't per-say LIKE the ending, but it wasn't because it was bad or anything, just... gut punch....

I mean in a way they did provide themselves with a very good position, story-wise.
The story is technically finished and fulfilled... but they can also do more, just... not sure how they'd work around the name :D

I got both games for the holidays, and I agree with everything here. The games got me completely hooked, and openly crying at the end.
(not trying for hard mode though (normal mode is hard enough as it is), let alone single-life playthrough  -- the games are way too long and have way too much instant death for that)
