Medical Update: 03232020 - In The CoronaVirus World...

Today was strange. This was one of those appointments I had to measure and test my Blood and its medicine interactions as I do every month. So this appointment was slated for a month in advance before this COVID-19 f'ed up this city. I came in and was told that I can not see my doctor.

A lot of talking and explaining, I was allowed to go through blood drawing and sent home, for a "Virtual Appointment" with my doctor 2 hours later. She called, and we discussed the results of my blood test and what it means in the medicine changes I may need (none) over the phone. Then the hard part.

I had to wait for the hospital administration to call me to make the next appointment which should be 30 days. They did it for 14 days (2weeks). Why? Don't know. But I'm taking it anyways.

Medically I'm OK. Just a bit miffed about the whole situation. But I had to deal with it. And it was just as crazy at the Pharmacy to pick up my pills.

I seen a video today that mentioned the number of Corona virus cases doubles every three days in New York City.

It festers in the body for a bit and that is one packed and very social city. That's partly why it hit Italy and Spain so hard, apart from being air hubs, they are very social people, usually a great thing but not now.

Full national state of emergency lockdown for me! I'm in "essential services" so I'm still working.

People forget about this. Those of us with chronic medical conditions are basically cut off from many medical services due to Corona virus. Then, when you get medical services, you're potentially exposed to the virus. My wife's eye doctor has gone to half days, and this month's visit will be at 8:30 a.m. They've suspended all non emergency visits.

i wish we had a few more numbers in the metrics.
1 Confermed cases is just that. theres alot more than that.
2. those in the hospital how many are critical v/s observation.  like how many are actuily on ventelators verses how many are being watched closely becos they might need. and the discharge rate whats that like.

sad thing is once we get to know this virus better it'l be less in hospital stays than there doing now. lack of knowlige means were probly hospitalising early and maby not doing anything to abate symptoms early enough.

The big hit is when it causes pneumonia lessening the irritation reaction in the lungs early could be the big difference.
