Hey everyone...I wanted to discuss a matter with you of some importance.
A couple of years ago my mother was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer and has been fighting it since then. Thankfully, due to the work of the doctors and some good faith, my mother is now cancer free. However, another thing has occurred which has rained upon that good news.
My mother's work has recently gone out of their way to make her life miserable at work in order to force her to quit. They've forbidden communication with others at work, they've forbidden others at work from talking to her, they berate her for her work, change procedures at work so she's guaranteed to get them wrong, are monitoring her communications and have even reduced her to tears at work.
We plan on suing her work in order to make the pay for causing her this suffering. The reason why they are doing it is simply because they do not want to continue covering her medical bills and they do not want to continue giving her benefits. She's still got doctors visits and other things that need to be taken care of. Unfortunately, the attorney that we spoke to won't represent my mom unless we can pay him the legal fee of 25,500$
A gofundme was set up to help her and well, I was hoping maybe you all could spread the word and get my family the help we need to fight these people and make them pay for mistreating her.
MystBunny has some good advice, there are many legal agencies and nonprofit organizations that do or can refer you to individuals that do pro bono work especially for worker discrimination cases so depending on your luck you may be able to get free representation without too long of a wait. At the very least you really should not settle for the first attorney you contacted their price if that is USD is incredibly high the fact that they didn't even take the small amount of time necessary to inform you of other ways you could obtain representation shows that whoever you talked to really does not care about your situation in the slightest.
