As my title says, it could be possible I lost another friend.
He was sent to jail for coursing a minor for sex and the charge against him is a complaint.
That is what the FEDERAL court told me. He went missing for weeks when normally he is online daily. Rumors start to spread he is in jail. So, I started calling around since I know the area he lives in is a good start. It took me hours of back and fourth between local and state police. Then the state police suggested if he lived in this area, it is very probable he is in this jail. They kindly gave me the number. I called that prison, and the operator helped me. I given the name and date of birth of my friend and they said yes he is in there.
My heart sank.
I was hoping for something else if he was in jail. Last summer, we were suppose to go swimming. However that trip was cut when he told me to take a shortcut through a empty cornfield. It was muddy and I got his jeep stuck. He did not blame me, but I still felt bad and we had to leave his jeep there until the mud dries up a bit. I was hoping it was that reason and he is just there for trespassing and if so, I'd be glad to suffer the same sentence with him. I am not going to let a friend take a fall for my mistake. I prayed it's not the rumor that he was coursing a minor boy for sex. So I asked what he was there for. The lady told me she does not know as he is under federal custody. She gave me the number to the nearest federal court.
My heart sank more, and my anxiety kicked into overdrive.
I called the federal court. A nice lady there picked up and I talked to her. The rumors where true which devastated me. Only thing that wasn't true that it wasn't a boy. It was a girl. I felt a lot of anger, sadness and shock all at once. When I hung up, I hanged my head.
He never shown any signs of liking minors. He always talks about loving big guys, and I am a hefty guy myself which he loves. Also, a girl? I thought he was gay. So I am not sure what to think at this point.
I am going to visit him in prison on Friday. See what he has to say. A part of me still cares about him and I am hoping this was a big misunderstanding. However, if it's true he did try to course a minor... well I learned that the prison uses those telephones communicate and there is thick glass between the prisoner and visitor. He is very lucky that is there or else I will punch him in the face.
My moral ground for children is that they should be protected and no unreasonable harm shall come go them. Reasonable harm is light physical punishment such as spanking. The use of some light pain as a motivator to learn from mistakes. Beyond that is abuse. If the child has behavior problem then seeking professional help is the best route to take.
Children should be allowed to learn and grow. Go to school, and to play with friends. Let them build up the skills needed for adulthood ahead. I know what that is like to have that taken away. It can really mess with children and mess with their adulthood too. Children should not be exposed to unnecessary sexual encounters. The only necessary encounters they should be exposed to is the lesson of the Birds and the Bees, how it makes babies through verbal and approved educational material such as the US Department of Education, and when reaching teenhood; The risk of pregnancy, the dangers of STDs, and use of protection through educational materials like books, pamphlets, and educationally approved videos that is approved but adults and also approved by systems such as US Department of Education. That is it.
No adult should expose themselves and have sexual contact with a minor as it can confuse the victim child/teen and extremely likely traumatize them. And this goes against my other moral code, I am very against the idea of making someone suffer for one's own gain or pleasure.
Never put a child in danger of any kind. That is where I stand when it comes to this subject.
