I've been interested in characters that have more magical or mystical nature, particularly those of age and experience. I'm compiling a list of such characters but I realize I don't know of many myself. I do not know what, if anything, I'd use this list for, but I am open to suggestions and contributions. Open to science-oriented characters as well. Official characters and furry only, please.
1) Rafiki from Lion King - The old and eccentric mandrill sage of the Pridelands. Kooky and energetic, but wise and shockingly down-to-earth.
2) Nicodemus from Secret of NIMH - An ascended life form of sorts, the result of genetic experimentation on lab rodents. Seems to exist in an overlap between science and magic, blurring the two into one. He is far more stable in behavior and far more straightforward in his advice.
3) The Soothsayer from Kung Fu Panda 2 - The kindly seer and healer from ancient China, this goat is skilled at mixing medicinal concoctions and applying acupuncture and acupressure. In tune with her surroundings and at peace with the world. Able to connect with others in a comforting and maternal way.
4) Oogway from Kung Fu Panda - The ancient tortoise kung fu master and highly developed sage and spiritual guide of his school. Intimately knowledgeable of what can be taught and what one must learn for oneself.
5) Kairos Fateweaver from Warhammer 40k - Did you expect Warhammer NOT to show up on this list? Kairos is a Lord of Change, aged from being thrown into the well of time. He has two heads, one seeing only the past, the other seeing only the future, both blind to the present. Manipulative and deceptive, but skilled at commanding squads and legions.
6) Starswirl the Bearded from My Little Pony - A unicorn wizard deeply rooted in the raw principles of magic. Was alive when use of magic was still being explored and so was not prepared for the developments made in his absence, namely that emotion and empathy played as much a part in magic as intellect and knowledge.
