Been playing Tokyo Ghou RE: Call to exist

by
I recently watched the whole Tokyo Ghoul anime. I loved it. It's not perfect, and I'm certain that the manga is better, but I loved it nonetheless. Ghouls are so damn cool!

So when I found out that there is a recently released action game where you can create and customize your own ghoul character, you can imagine how excited I was. I'm a sucker for character creation.

The character customization is unfortunately shallow, but it offers just enough options for me. You can pick outfits, hairstyles, clothing/hair colors, character voice, masks, and even your ghoul's kagune! The combat is fun too, if you don't have a terrible need for depth. gameplay is pretty shallow.

The game has it's flaws though.

Some hairstyles, outfits and masks need to be unlocked, and the requirements for some of them can get a bit unreasonable. The requirements for the final outfit is especially ridiculous. You have to unlock absolutely everything else in the game plus a minimum of 150 unlockables. Again, this is just for a measly outfit.

Another con is that when you switch to hard mode, the difficulty of some levels can get flat out obnoxious. There's a level where the final section has you escorting someone while waves of enemies try to kill him, and it's the single most frustrating thing in the entire game.

Worst of all, there's no guides whatsoever for the game. There's the occasional youtube vid or reddit discussion if I'm lucky, but aside from that, There's no fully developed, reliable sources. Nothing on Cheatcc, gamefaqs or anywhere I search on google.

I still enjoy the game though. I still have loads of fun with it.

Overall, Tokyo Ghoul RE: Call to exist is like the anime that it's based on. It's not perfect, but I love it.
