It's almost been a year since the passing of my father due to cancer. It was a year ago this day since my family and I embraced each other at the hospital saying "we made it". And here it is, another year has past and life moves on. We made it another year, and I look to the horizon in fear of what's to come.
To all those that read this I have a request. I'd like for you to go to a loved one. Family member, best friend, significant other, and let them know how much they mean to you. Even if it's over the phone or messenger, it's those little things that we take for granted, and are most missed when they are gone...I know from experience.
And to those that I know: I don't say this often but I genuinely appreciate you being around in my life, I don't know where I'd be without you, or if I'd even have the strength to keep moving forward without you. I still find it baffling how anyone can put up with me to begin with, I hope one day I will be able to repay the favor in full.
