Please, pweeeetty please! Don't do that.
I really understand it gets frustrating if your ticket hasn't been responded for a while, but there's a reason why when pm'ing a staff member there's a banner saying 'please, don't use pm's for IB-related matters'. And it's because the fact that we're IB staff doesn't mean we're always working for IB.
Ticket system is there so the available on-duty staffers can pick them up. Addressing them to me directly, or to any of my fellow staffers, mean we also lose our anonimity, which always works in the site's favor as it allows us to be more neutral and objective when dealing with tickets.
Now, about addressing them to me in particular:
For the last 3 years I haven't been able to dedicate work time for Inkbunny. The fact I remain as admin is because this position is trust-based, and if there's a problem only an admin can take care of and I happen to be available, I'll be happy to take care of it.
In the past I was a heavy contributor, helping improve the site's features as developer and trying to process as many tickets as I could, but life changes. Mine got from relativelly tranquil to suddenly be very busy, and then it got even busier! For the last months I've been trying to shed weight, but as I did, more stuff came up to fill the void.
As some of you may have noticed, for these last three years I've turned from posting several times a week, to not post in months, and lately once every two weeks or so. If you see my year pools, you'll also notice a big drop in the last three years.
And it's not that life is going bad for me. Not at all. I'm doing more or less ok, if being 'sickeningly busy' is compatible with being ok. I just have too much stuff to deal with, all at the same time, not staying put in a physical location for long, traveling a lot because of family reasons, and I need to catch up with my work as well.
So whenever I have a moment to sit down and browse Inkbunny I want to just do that: browse Inkbunny. Enjoy the new art its wonderful artists post, favving and commenting where I can. It's why I joined Inkbunny in the first place, and because I decided to help as much as I could with it later: I love the community and I think you all deserve the best of my efforts.
If I have a little more time I'll prepare and post the next drawing in my folder, which means I'll then have to go through all the faves and watches, and respond to the comments, which may take more additional time.
So, if on top of all of that (which doesn't look like much, but believe me, in my current situation having a spare hour is a kind of a luxury) I got 5 or 10 PM's from users, then I need to write this journal. I suppose none of those even watch me here. I figure they went to the team's page, then picked me or worse, pm'ed all of the staffers individually about their issue.
So in short, TL&DR; please, don't do that. I'm aware there's a growing backlog of tickets. We're doing our best to lower it whenever we have time, or more exactly, whenever the rest do, because I'm currently too busy to invest time to attend IB tickets.
But have faith! and please, be patient. I'm in the process of reorganizing my life so I can have spare time again, and when I do, and after I've rested a bit, I'll get back to take care of whatever IB duties arise. I actually can't wait! Miss being a much more active part of this community :)
Take care everybody!
