Regarding Questions about Opening Commissions

Just feel it would be faster to put a reply here while I was able:

To summarize much of 2019 in a nutshell, I've for the most part gone quiet in terms of output due to a number of factors, but by far the most consistent one being my work environment becoming and staying increasingly unstable in terms of the staffing situation as the year went on, which includes a few season-long absences due to sick leave of very hard to replace staff. Those remaining active end up having to pick up the tasks of the absent, but with no real compensation as you can imagine.

How is this relevant to anything here? The short answer is that due to yet another senior staff basically leaving the store to help at another struggling location, I'm going to end up filling in for probably quite a number of closing shifts they would have had. I'm basically tied up till after new years at the least.

I've got two last items I agreed to honor prior to this ongoing nonsense that I intend to deliver, but aside from the occasional stream if time permits, I'm probably not going to be overly active here, much less taking any commissions till at least January, when everything should calm down as it is a notoriously slow month in my line of work.

Pretty harsh with what you're going through.  Do wish you the best of luck towards the new year.

I feel for you, especially the uptick in hours (and all the extra work packed into those hours), definitely.  We've not chatted much of late (thanks again, work x3), but know my support for you and my fondness for your art is unchanged.  I would love to commission you again sometime when things calm down, but your work and health are what matter so I hope the crunch goes as well as possible.  Being indispensable isn't the worst thing, but I can't believe the holiday push is already here! Best of luck from me too
