All of my Internets

ALL of them!

http://www.welovefine.com/1953-friendship-is-coming.html

I want this so bad.  And I might even wear it in public.  It's far too awesome to contain.

People will be like, "You have a girly cartoon pony on yer shirt."

And I'll reply, "That girly cartoon pony is sitting on the Iron Throne, a chair made out of fucking swords.  What have YOU done lately?"

Now I'm going to spend the rest of the day speculating about which Game of Thrones characters are Bronies...

I rarely use T-shirt pockets anyway.  And when I say rarely, I mean, like, never.   My pants however, must have pockets.

What I did lately? I didn't buy an overpriced t-shirt for a widely overrated kids cartoon show. If at least it'd be somehow ironic, as in the cult around similar trash such as the film Showgirls, but nooooo...you guys are fully serious about this!

If you don't realize how incredibly ironic the fandom really is, you're not paying close enough attention.  I'm pretty sure we all know it's absurd.  Many of us talk about the absurdity, relish it, then come up with ridiculous explanations for it.

Also, the reason I wanted to bring this up was that it was a blending of memes.  I was into Game of Thrones years before I ever got into ponies.  This is the reason why I like this so much.  Attaching ponies to things makes it absolutely hilarious because it is so silly.

Why do you feel so threatened that people enjoy this?  I'm frankly inspired that so many people can get behind a show that's all about love, tolerance, and rainbow colored explosions.  I like how people can enjoy things without taking them too seriously.  Some fandoms get way too defensive about canon, or the way *they* think characters should behave.  I enjoy how so many bronies like to poke fun at the characters, and make jokes about how they behave.

Yes, I can understand how you think that it's popularity is undeserved.  Maybe it is.  But it has inspired so much joy, even if that joy is purely accidental.  If not for the periferey fandom, I probably wouldn't be watching the show.  Some of the plots points are really really dumb, and situations are often handled as if the characters can't see obvious solutions.  But it's still very enjoyable.

And have you watched American TV lately?  Shows that are really watchable are kind of in short supply around here.  We have like, 15 crime dramas, mostly populated by characters I couldn't give two shits about.  They have dumb plots, too. But they are aimed at adults, and are about Seriousy Mcshirtpants, and Douchie Mcsnarkhat.  And our comedies have an average life of about 2 seasons or less.  And the ones that last longer, are usually the ones I don't care about.  I have seen shows with characters so unmemorable, that I don't even remember their names after watching 3-6 episodes.   I'm serious.

Another crappy thing about American TV.  None of the channels are what they're supposed to be anymore.  MTV no longer has music.  Cartoon Network doesn't really have cartoons.  History Channel talks about biker gangs and aliens.  Discovery Channel has reality shows about dudes fishing for crabs.  And Sci-fi is now SyFy.....and has Wrestling.  WRESTLING.  You know that thing I always got pissed off at while watching other channels when it preempted my favorite Science Fiction drama?  Yeah, it's now on the one place specifically designed for Science Fiction.

When given the choice between watching 12 idiots compete in a popularity contest on some reality TV show, or watching pastel colored ponies overcome obstacles to friendship, can you really blame me if I'd rather watch the ponies?

Plus, John Delancie.  John "Q" freaking Delancie!

Also, have you ever actually sat down and watched "Lesson Zero" or "Party of One"?  There are a few episodes that I enjoyed way more than any others, and those are two of them.  Also, I don't think I've ever watched a single Rarity episode that I didn't find hilarious.

There  are also ones like "Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000" which had a good song, but was probably one of my least favorite episodes, due to the entire cast taking turns with the Idiot Ball.

Nah, it's just the Guardian of the Realm, Queen Lyra Heartstrings ....or Derpy  ...or Twilight.  You know, whoever rides out the intrigue and betrayal and ends up alive at the end.
