I had an idea today and I want to check if there would be any interest for it (as it'd probably need a bit of crowdfunding, and a lot of time.)

Synopsis: A lonely girl moves into a new apartment where there already is a bed. Turns out the place is haunted, and a monster lives under the bed, and manifests itself as long arms with large hands. At first she is scared, but it turns out not to be a bad monster. After communicating through notes passed under the bed, they get frisky.

Now a thing I'm not sure about is:
Should the girl be human, or anthro. I personally like both, but I want to be able to reach the widest audience possible in case this is made, so what I'm really asking is, would you, personally, be AGAINST the main character being human.

I am NOT planning on having any tf in that story. I'm not against tf at all, but this is not something that'd fit what I have in mind!

Perhaps split the difference and have the main character start human or anthro and either by a quirk of the monster, perhaps a curse linked to it that afflicts others despite its better intentions, she periodically changes back and forth between species? Though I suppose that would be rather a lot to digest and implement. Heh.

Sounds cool though regardless of the main characters species. :3 Just definitely needs freckles! :D

I would suggest starts as human but as they get frisky she begins to change and becomes Anthro

I am okay with Both human and athro characters, but my preference would probably be human art from you.

I've always favored anthro art over human, so that's at least a vote for 1 anthro. IF human I hope they are at least cute and fairly endowed. ^^ HOWEVER a compromise of a human-esque monster girl would also be viewed in good favor. And the next thing would depend what would come out from the bottom of the bed. A shadow monster that can take over her shadow and make her do things could be cool. OR a twist of the monster under the bed could be the monster IS the bed! Carved out of evil wood/stone/bone and basically its a horny spirit trapped in a bed.complete with phallic or penetrable headboard/baseboard. EVEN a further twist its a monster that lives under the bed sheets instead. and can only do things as long as he/she is under the cursed linen. its odd because the linens keep putting her on the floor because it/he/she doesn't want to hurt our poor hero sleeping in this old, lonely creepy bed. But I Digress. More info on the bed monster would be needed to draw any more conclusions and further chat.

I think either would be more than fine. If you're trying to go for the widest audience, like you said, go for human or at least primarily human. If you are torn about that or anthro, you can always make it like a neko or something. You know, just a human with animalistic features like ears and tail, maybe some specific eyes. Idk. Just throwing out some ideas. If you were to go anthro though, what specie would you be thinking about? Like for some reason, I get the feeling a nice cute mouse girl would be great in this scenario. But I'm curious what you're thinking about.

my vote would be anthro under normal circumstances but since your goal is to reach the widest audience then I'd say stick to human and win your numbers game.

I think the term some of us were looking for was "Kemonomimi", Mostly human but with animal ears (tail recommended.)

Which could still be absurdly cute, and maybe even why she's lonely - perhaps her being that little bit beastly is something that her society tolerates but doesn't really like: "normal" people are a bit put off by her pointy ears and fluffy tail.

I'm trying not to throw too many ideas, as this is your story. :-)
