Looking for ideas on how I could get people to support the comic I'm working on! (this one btw: https://ko-fi.com/sspcomic )
No, this is not a "why aren't you supporting it" kinda post, but a genuine question to see what people would like to see in order to want to support the project.
As of now, donations are made through Ko-Fi, so it's a fixed $3. I know not everyone can afford it, and I totally understand that, but I feel like it's a fair price for the early access/higher resolution/unwatermarked pages, so the price isn't something I want to change.
I can't afford to make art in exchange for donations either, as there is already a reward for donating, and I'm already eating in my daily free time to get pages done (at least for the prologue)
I really want to make this into a full blown webcomic (maybe starting with 1 page every 2 weeks once Chapter 1 starts, and more if there is enough interest and support to make it possible) but I can't do it for free, as if I start working on it more seriously, it'd probably end up being worked on on my work time so I can still have free time once in a while, but I can't afford losing work hours if I'm not making anything in return.
IF this gets done, I'm planning on having cameo slots (it's a fantasy story, so it'd be "normal" to have "animal people" in there, but I'd probably still prioritize human(oid) characters, or humanization of anthro characters) for donators, and maybe merch at some point (maybe stickers to begin?) but I'm not sure what else would make people interested in donating.
So ultimately the question is: If you were to donate, what would you like in exchange? There could be tiers (i.e: $3: pages access, $6: sticker, etc...)
Going by what I can see, I would not support it yet, because I can't see enough to even tell what's going on. I very rarely spend money without having at least some idea of what I'm in for, and that means reviews, or an author with past creations I like so much I'm willing to buy anything new they make. For you specifically, I know you can do good artwork, but I have no idea of what your comic writing skills are like. I think you should release at least something like a first chapter to hook people in a bit.
This also looks like very sketchy quality: [mediumthumb]1987202[/mediumthumb]
I understand that artwork takes a huge amount of effort. But the main two things that would get me to donate are either a great plot, or great artwork. Either of those can compensate for the flaws of the other somewhat, but if neither is there, it's hard to find a good reason to spend money on it.
The title is also overly quirky for my taste, but that is a minor thing I can easily ignore if the content is any good.

As the ko-fi page and every description of the pages say, this IS planned to be released for free once the prologue is done. I'm not asking here what people like as far as comics go, but what would interest them as far as donation bonus(es) go. i.e: if they enjoy the material, what would incite them to support it monetarily.

A good comic. Either something fresh, or if not a new idea, a very well done one.
I think you are hoping for an answer like "merch", but for me that comes well after a successful comic. I'm not going to rush to buy shirts or stickers for something I don't know if I like it yet.

Again, there will be a chapter available before I even consider making anything.
If you're not interested, that's alright, but I'm not looking for critiques at all, but what people would be interested in as far as donation bonuses go.

I'm thinking access would remain a one-time payment deal, and other things would be monthly depending on "reward" i.e (using a possible sticker): if you donate $6 you get to read plus a sticker, and it "resets" every month, but you remain able to see the pages. So... if a donation of $6 is made the first month, that's a sticker, but to get a sticker the next month there would be an other donation of $6 required. I hope that makes sense! (then again it's just trying to figure things out)

That makes sense. Everybody gets the same sticker, right?
Though for Telegram, it's a bit messy for everybody to upload the stickers themselves, or to have one 'set' for each individual one -- I thought you might make one set and add stickers to it successively, but I don't know what payment model would work with that.

I don't have any money to spare so I don't really count, but... I think it's more about just seeing what you like and wanting to support more of that. Extras are just extras. To that end, I think, after you finish this comic, and it starts to make the rounds on the usual pirate sites, you might start to see an uptick in people supporting the next comic. If not, then the one after that. Eventually, as long as the quality is good, people will catch on.
