Does someone here still have 3ds max license?

Hello. Just wondering if anyone here still has 3ds max license? If I find my old 3ds max files somewhere would be nice if someone could export the characters for me as fbx (binary) or obj since I no longer can open those files. Probably not using them for anything but would be nice to get my hands on them again. Perhaps I could use them as a base for some new character at some point. (also you could also have them if you have any use for old badly dated models)

I have a super old 3dmax cracked cd from like 15 years ago XD does that count?

Heh not sure. That might be too old to open the files. Although it has been a while since I made those projects. I'll check if I can still find the files somewhere. But if you don't have it installed, don't bother. I could probably install some trial version myself but I rather not. I don't want autodesk's stuff on my computer. Iirc some of it was hard to remove. And that old stuff isn't worth the trouble.

I have an app that can import .3ds files and export fbx / obj. Is that good enough? :3

Hmmh probably not since the characters should be returned into T pose before exporting. They aren't very useful if they are just exported in some random pose from the animation. Thanks for the offer though.

I can if you are on discord/telegram (depending of how large the models are, discord is limited to 2mb files i think)

Unfortunately I don't have neither of those but I can share them via google drive (if I find them. Haven't done much searching yet)

Actually never mind. I found the files and I have some obj version of almost every character I might need. That should be enough as the old ones as they are aren't really good for anything nowadays so they would need some major reworking anyway.

Why not just pirate 3DS Max or just use the Student versions? It's not like you intend on properly using it in the future.

I don't have access to student versions and I don't pirate anything due to risks and because I don't really need to. I would feel pretty stupid if I ruined my life by pirating something that I absolutely do not need such as 3ds max. The old models aren't really worth it. But if someone happens to have 3ds max installed then it might be worth the few seconds it takes to export the model. Although tbh I'm not sure if they are even worth that effort. (+ I don't want autodesk's random extra stuff that is hard to remove)

i can run the latest version of max.
can export fbx calada bla bla bla.
obj as well

what modles you need swaped over .. and dosn't blender open max files

3DS max requires a license? Not installed but never got a prompt for a license from the program or Autodesk. I haven't used it since 2018 either though.
