i wounder, when i turn 50 am i going to walk around the house at 90° wearing a sweater and acting like its cold? I'm sorry, i love you mom, but we've gone through this for 2 summers now since ive been back from college... please turn on the AC. i understand she refuses to turn it on unless shes hot or cause of the electric bill but good lord. it was 90° today in the house, probably 95° in my room but she still wouldn't turn on the ac. god i love her more then anything but I'm so tired of coming home from work and not being comfortable in my own home. whole point of having a place of your own is so you can be comfy in it. When I turn on the ac, she questions me, but when a cold front comes in and shes cold, she turns on the heat, the oven, and turns on every pilot light on the stove. then she leaves it on all night and gets mad at me when i turn it off while shes asleep. I love you mom but please.. PLEASE can you turn on the AC for at least a hour a day. and if the electric bill is that high, ill gladly help you pay it. Its like this ever summer. I feel like Elaine from the Seinfeld episode when she visits Jerry's parents. *begging, covered in sweat.* "please Mrs. Seinfeld, PLEASE!!! will you turn on the air conditioner..."
I'm really hoping to meet my deadline in June to move out but it doesn't look like it. The idea was to move to Dallas mid June after attending A-kon. They have been cutting everyone's hours at my job.. the commissions have been coming in rather nicely but i don't know. I'm going to start looking for a new job tomorrow. hopefully ill get a callback soon. I'm not gonna give up, im to strong for that, just got to keep at it.

Cooler outer temps, however, and the house doesn't get below 55 inside. Don't want the pipes to freeze. summer sucked when I had to work nights and try to sleep during the day in the hot weather.

i wish i could. apparently the previous owner of the house was a elderly lady. she had all the windows in the house sealed shut after buying the alarm system for the house. so theirs no way to open the windows. i would be perfectly fine if i could open my windows. i use to do it in my old apartment. on the hotter days. such a shame -_-;

Try getting a small swamp cooler. They use a lot less power than an A/C unit, they practicly run off water, and you may be able to get one at a reasonable price.
