pretty smart decision. not a lot of people would be willing to just cold turkey and immediately start doing cubs for commission. FA has always been shitty with their dictation of what is and isnt a cub. good luck with the bounce back, dude.

Funny but frustrating story about my experience. I got perma banned from FA and the the works tha got me banned are still on my old account to this day. They gave me the boot and were too lazy to remove the works that booted me in the first place thus giving people a false sense of whats appropriate and what isnt'. TL;DR, FA mods are aids.

I can tell you that by allowing yourself to accept cub based commissions here, you will open up a lot of business for yourself. Just be 100% sure it's something you want to do and CAN do.

I know not everyone int he world has the same rights, views and freedoms as others, so it's not a decision to take lightly.

Im just still surprised that they allow most of the MLP ponies on there. I mean Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow dash, Flutteryshy. they are under 18. Lauren Faust has confirmed this too before. They are under 18. they are between 15 and 17 years old.

Yeah but for awhile there, they were tagging ALL Sonic art as underaged. Even if you followed their guidelines for 'aging up', they would still tag it.

Their reasoning was "Well, it doesn't matter if you make Tails more adult, the source material says he's 12, therefore he is always 12"

Huh, I have a 22-year-old flying-fox succubus who’s supposed to be a “legal loli” but I submitted a ticket to ask one of the mods on FA to see if she was allowed. A moderator by the name of AsiaNeko told me it was fine after a couple of days of review.
She just told me that it would be fine if I posted her so as long as she wasn’t referred to as a minor at any sorts.
Maybe I lucked out? Idk.
I think since then AsiaNeko isn’t there anymore but I guess the mods got the hint each time I sent a submission of her.

If you screenshotted the convo between you and the mod, you'd basically have a blank check on that character.

"Well, this mod said x y z when I first submitted this character, and they said it was alright, so..."

I certainly can see why it happened, the limit between chibi and underage characters has always been extremely thin, to totally blurred, and since you did not show the bear breasts, this can lead to think you tried your hand at a cub bear like Jim Hardiman's Penance or

's Penny, who has been extremely popular lately and thus quite visible and in everybody's mind.
You certainly have been victim of an anonymous denunciation from some white knight who did not even know you and saw your submission through the latest uploads or some favorites, and FA staff either got too many submissions to review or agreed it was too borderline to pass on this one. Though banning you a week is a little too extreme, unless you already have been warned a couple times for some past submissions?

Not for a very long time, at least. Apparently, whoever flagged my picture took their time to research the character's canonical age, as it appeared in the ban note, so this might have been a personal attack. By whom, we'll never know.

FA doesn't care about canonical age unless it suits them. Some underage characters are allowed, and some adult characters are banned. The cub rule is one that can never be enforced fairly even if you try, but FA doesn't even try.

I can assure you, it not a case of the line being blurred. they legit see chibi as no different from cub. I have a drawing in my gallary that was deleted from FA. The character in the image have fully exposed breasts and is in her 20s. The mod who removed it stated that they see chibi work (even semi chibi which the image was) as cub, no excuses.

The reality is, it don't matter regardless. They classify what they dont like as cub just to remove it. Anyone who bring positive attention to FA (like Zaush) are the exception. Zaush's comics on other sites still describe the characters as minor but the mods will look past that no doubt due to his friendship with Neer (least I heard he's friends with Neer)

Sorry to hear about what happened. Only time I ever got banned from FA was for harassment, which boiled down to me making fun of somebody in a comment section after they'd blocked me. Him coming back to see if I'd left any more comments was harassment apparently.

Good luck with the move. I could never do that since 99% of my commissions come from FA but I hope it works out in your case.

Inkbunny is a much better place since so many anti cub groups are out there Is FA a risky place because those anti cub groups decide what is cub and what are not if some characters looking too young to them they flag it for deletion

I've had a couple of admins try to get me banned for being short, but I know other admins -and- dragoneer knows me, so I've had my arse saved a few times. I don't like playing underaged characters, nor do I want any adult depictions of them in the worlds I build. So it's -insulting- to try to ban someone because you think a midget is a kid. There's not even neoteny features, I think the admins literally have never seen a darn kid before! D:<

I got a ban for a drawing that is older than the cub ban. It featured Tabaluga. I had no idea he was not an adult so I looked it up. He's 800 years old but it's only 8 in dragon years.

I am just waiting for my next ban which will be a permanent ban. Since this has happened a few times with old pics in my gallery there.

I hope things work out on inkbunny for you ^^

I may be preaching to the choir but we seriously need a mass exodus from that site.

The people who are running it are clearly not there to support their artists, and this is becoming more and more apparent with every passing day. We need to start a rally or something and break the nasty chain reaction that keeps other people bound to that site.

FA may have been at the right place at the right time, but it's got the wrong people running it.

Oh yeah, lest we forget, art theft/plagarism is totally okay unless the person who actually OWNS the artwork reports it.

Because they do not allow third-party reports regarding those issues. Only the original copyright holder can dispute it.

Just another reason to get people to migrate away from that site. It's starting to remind me too much of deviantArt...

I stopped really using FA a long time ago. I still look around on there for YCH's and have uploaded newer adult references, but that's about it. I find IB to be a lot better.

FA sucks, they shot themselves in the foot with that cub policy.
It can't be enforced fairly and reading Zaush's "Daddy's little secret" on FA is all that is needed to convince oneself of it (I have nothing against Zaush, imo he shafted FA good with that comic).

You're popufur? Then you can get away with it as your random moderator will check with the management before banning a superstar.

As someone else stated, the cub ban can't and hasn't been enforced fairly. First, it's a subjective judgment call. What one person may see as underage, another may see as adult. The intention of the artist is never taken into account, because the artist is always assumed to be lying to avoid a ban. Also, I recall that at one point the rules explicitly stated that Pokemon classified as Babies were considered cub as far as the ban is concerned. Riolu is a baby Pokemon. There remains a crap load of Riolu porn on FA. I checked shortly after your journal was posted, and the Baby Pokemon clause is no longer in the rules. Maybe one of the staff really likes their Riolu smut and didn't like that their own rules technically outlawed it.

Of course, as stated above by someone else, the rules don't apply to popular artists. A super-popular artist like Zaush can get away with saying "No, really, all these characters are totally adult. Even though the girls are a foot shorter than the adult males and have chests as flat as an ironing board." If any other, less popular artist claimed that, the staff would refuse to believe them, and they'd be banned, regardless. Everyone knows this, though. The staff will say "Well, the artist's intention is that they're adults." But if you try that "artist's intention" stuff yourself, you're shown the door. Apparently popular artists are bastions of truth and justice and would never lie about their intentions regarding the ages of their characters, but everyone else is totally lying in order to avoid trouble. It's bullshit.
