Deleting Art

If you are following me and like my Dreamkeepers art, I am warning you that I am deleting all my Dreamkeepers art and fiction within the upcoming week. If you want any of it, you should save it before it's gone.

the author of DK accused me of various conspiracies to undermine his comic and his publishing company some months ago
i thought I could bounce back from that, but i was wrong
so I'm trying to leave it all behind

Me calling him out when he turned a Sketch of The Month from his Patreon into a joke image because he didn't like the suggestion.
Honestly, I was a dick about it, but I don't know how he contrived me voting for someone else's suggestion and me getting pissed when he turned it into a joke as me trying to conspire against him.

Personally, I'd probably be just as peeved if an artist did that to their fans. Especially if they have a "doesn't hurt to ask" motto tagged to their tip jar. If it doesn't hurt to ask, why manipulate a sketch request to be something different than what was asked? Why disregard suggestions if you're going to give people total freedom to suggest whatever they want? It doesn't make sense to me.

I normally don't rip into hard-working artists like David, but some of the ways he operates just rubs me the wrong way and I don't blame you for calling him out on something like this. Though, I don't suppose you could link to what this monthly sketch was. A little more insight into what the sketch was could help with understanding how this went down.

I don't have a link, I don't think Dave ever posted it publicly. It may be in a free post on his Patreon, but I am not sure. Some people didn't like the lack of character interactions--specifically reunions between characters who knew each other in Prelude--so a SKOM was suggested that asked for Mace's reunion with Vi and Bobby. The suggestion won by a fair margin. The resulting SKOM was a comedic one-page sketch where Mace tells Vi and Bobby that Paige is dead, then Vi says she didn't here him and doesn't want to talk because she is in too much pain, while Bobby is high on painkillers, saying that he feels like he should feel sad but doesn't, 'cuz he's high. I didn't suggest the SKOM, only voted for it. I did have public discussions with the guy who did suggest the SKOM, and we plus several others agreed that it was a good idea.

Ah, yes. I know the one you're talking about. Some folks were talking about it on the DK thread over on 8chan. From what I understand, the blowup over that sketch is the reason David did away with the monthly sketches and replaced them with the monthly content vote he's doing now. I will say this, it could have been handled a lot better by both sides, but what's done is done. Regardless, glancing at your latest journal, it's good to see you've reconsidered your stance as a fan of the series. I'll be waiting to see what new art you come up with, whatever it may be.

Straying away from my reply comment above, I will just say that it's a shame to see your DK art going away. Whatever art you plan to do later should be interesting, but maybe when some time has passed, you might give DK another chance. There aren't many artists in the fanbase who draw fanart porn without being commissioned to, sadly, and you are one of the best I've seen apart from Zagura.

I'm still going to draw stuff. I have a personal piece I finished up a short while ago that I haven't posted yet. I should probably get around to posting that.
