WTF Oildale, We're tired of all the bullshit!

Sorry for no stream today. was gonna but things got a bit odd around our house. seems the front neighbor decided to let her crazy son stay over for a while again.

about 5 or so months ago the dude stayed here and got so methed out that he dug a hole under the houses to find gold. His last stay was the day he lost his shit, and circled the house with a machete saying he was gonna cut off his moms head.

fast forward today and it seems shes let him back in. After we got back late from grocery hopping, the dude must have angered his family or something cause they lock him out. he losses his shit banging on the car, and shouting about Coke. i whip out my phone and record from the window as i see him kick on the door, then climbs up the frame to rip out the light. at this point we're worried hes about to go postal like he tried to do last time so we do a anon call to the cops.

Nothing was really done, they found him, brought him back, tried to pull us into it, and we step out and everyone's gone and hes back in they're house. have this sinking feeling that this is not about to get any better. Was thinking about doing a go fund me, but with the amount it would take to get up the funds to get out of Bakersfield or cali all together like we want, it would just be asking a lot.

We're gonna keep up with working hard and finishing up everything cause we sooooooo need to get out of here. between the racist assholes, crime and meth heads we just cant take it anymore.

Taking tonight off but starting back up tomorrow, I'm working double time. wanna save up to get the fuck out and also save to get us one of those cheap wifi cameras. If he looses his shit and decides to jump our fence, we're gonna have it on camera.

Yall have a good night, im gonna eat come icecream and go to bed :(

That's actually a pretty normal thing in California. I have friends out their and they can attest to that.

California is huge and by itself one of the top five or six economies in the world. Speaking of any one thing as "normal" in California is next to useless.

Its more our area then all of cali. Its one of those small america areas that isnt doing very well. It was a cheap home rental for a reason sadly. Though if we can get to a point where we could move, we would gladly go to north cali or san fran or someplace more accepting of us. Mate has family out north and its a nice area unlike here in Oildale.

Oh, I believe it. But that really is my point; Speaking in generalities about California is kind of useless. I tried to move from the Boston area to San Francisco in '97 but couldn't make a three bedroom apartment in the Mission work at 1,800. (Bwahahahah!)

That is pretty messed up. Unfortunately, I have a crazy neighbor too who does weird random stuff like going around cutting phone lines and such. The worst part is, sometimes he is sane and a good guy, but when he's nuts, he's NUTS! Good luck getting out of dodge!

I advise to read up some laws about harassment or anything related ,better know your rights.
https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes.xhtml
here's a link  to the official goverment page.
It might be different than Polish rights but i think you can always find anything useful.
Goodluck!

Is this like some normal American thing to have crazy junkies as neighbors? Im kinda confused.

America is vast and heavily segregated, both racially and economically. Your mileage will vary enormously depending on location and prevailing economic circumstances.

As a NorCal native, I always hate it when people talk about the state this way. Shit like this is not normal in northern California, nor are pretty much any of the negative stereotypes about my state...

But anyway, I do hope things get better for you guys and you stay safe.

I do like cali, i dont blame everyone. Just some bad seeds in this area. We visited north cali, la and mora beach and thet were all wonderful places. Just seems like oildale has more bad eggs then normal.

Like ive grown up in texas most of my life with lots of posative stories. Though like all states, there are some counties my family and i avoided like the plague.

Hey, just passing through. I looked at the wiki on Oildale, and the stats are not great. That said, what you describe seems endemic to all of the non-rich areas of not only California but this country as a whole. We will spend astronomical sums on incarceration, but not the far less costly and more effective preventive measures. I also understand that does you no good in the here and now, so I wish you luck on finding a better place to be.

Obviously this guy is negatively affecting more than than just you and your family. Get the rest of the neighborhood to raise a fuss, tell your local news station, do something that would cause the police to stop ignoring the problem. That's what happened with Amber Guyger (not saying that this guy is on the same level as a police officer that "mistakenly" killed someone in their own apartment, but you get the idea).

Good luck to you on getting to a better place.
If you're afraid something bad might happen, I can recommend an exceedingly cheep legal service. At less 20$ a month for any issue, and limitless free legal advice from an entire firm of dedicated lawyers, you can't beat it.

Sorry to hear you are in this bind. If I were in your place I would put a camera behind your fence facing toward the property for a few days. More than likely this guy is getting high off someone's product. You can find out who the supplier is based on the car that keeps coming back and chance meetings. At that point put in a tip about a possible dealer in the area and wait for the fruititions of a stakeout.

Reason I say this is cops are more likely to go after someone cornered and get tips on other dealers than to go after your neighborhood junky as its paperwork on an ever existing problem.

CA is going to shit.  The companies there might be turning a profit, but the people certainly aren't prospering.

Back when I lived in the LA area, I'd drive up to Bakersfield ever couple of weeks or so.
I used to like it, reminded me of Los Angeles in the '50s.
Then some time in the '80s, the discovered crack and meth.
Sigh.
So yeah, I know where Oildale is.
There's worse places. Buttonwillow.

Ironic that CA has such a huge economy but yet their polices make power and water more expensive than other parts of the country. A number of companies have moved out or moved part out of CA
