Pokemon Sword & Shield

I'm honestly on the fence about buying the new pokemon game. Like I love completing the pokedex, it's the main thing i like to do after i beat the base game. And I am a fan of some pokemon that aren't too popular, and having them cut out of laziness is a big thorn in my side.

I mean you are already reusing models and animations from old 3ds games that COULD handle the 800+ pokemon and all thier animations.

Not to mention cutting megas and Z-moves, when is the last time pokemon has cut such defining features from the games. It's like cutting out abilities and shit... like.... WHAT?!?!

And also not to mention some of the animations i've seen are just booty buttcheeks, and not the good kind.

All I see this as is cutting corners because you already know the game will sell well despite your lack of effort.

I didn't buy US/UM and honestly I might not buy this one.

No I agree.

Ultra sun/moon was okay, but that's only because it addressed some of the issues that Sun/moon brought in that made the game damn near unplayble.

But this lack of a national dex... and the lack of them adding anymore pokemon via updates is total BS.

I'm considered toxic for thinking let's go looked like an unfinished disapointing cash grab, and tons of Pokemon fans jumped in to defend let's goes short comings. I feel like if Pokemon fans will defend and buy anything game freak would be stupid to finish there games. They can put in less work and the pokemon fanbase will still buy it regardless it's a win win for them. I've never seen a series less worth critizing cause game freak never listens to fans and most fans just try to protect their series from any criticism anyway so it feels like a you reap what you sow situation to me.

I wont be buying these. Taking my lack of switch out of the equation completely pokemon games have gone more and more towards the direction of streamlining the entire experience for all of their audience who have short attention spans and since black and white the path through the region has been pretty linear with more and more effort to handhold to make sure there is no way for anyone to go off the track.

Exploration and getting to see the world and what pokemon show up where was my favorite part of pokemon and back in the gameboy days Kanto and Johto felt like skyrim when all of the other games on the system seemed incredibly short. For OR/AS I was incredibly furious with them when after getting my 5th badge I found it I had no choice but to be warped to mauville. I was forced to backtrack just to surf down the south route like I normally would on ruby and sapphire cause apparently there was no other way to make sure people can find their way to the next route.

One huge problem with how gamefreak leads players through the modern pokemon regions is that maybe aside from the big shopping city the entire game becomes forgettable because the games don't really give you enough time with any given area to grow familiar with it and develop nostalgia for. I remember maybe 1% of Black and White at best. X and Y is slightly more memorable but thats only cause I attempted to get into competitive play during gen 6 and IV bred and Super Trained a bunch of pokemon but even then you only ever visited each route or city once aside from the central city.

I want to play a game where you spend time in or go back to the different areas of the game and get to know the people in those areas. I probably wont be playing a pokemon game again unless they start doing that.

Buy them if you think you'll enjoy them, and don't buy them if you don't. I am infuriated by the revelation that you can't have all 800+ monsters in the game. As someone who enjoys collecting the Living Dex, it shattered me. So for the first time since I got into the series, I'm going to be taking a hard pass on these entries and potentially the rest of the series if things continue in this direction.

Mmm I regret buying ultra Moon.. However my Pokémon scene is kinda different then catch em all. I technically did back in Black and white but I neva wanna do it again. (Black and white 2 has best music fite me and at me)

However I will say, this will completely change the balance of the game. Doing this will also take care some of the biggest issues in the competitive side at the cost of upsetting others... I just wanna use all the new ones.

I know not every Pokémon can be viable but my hope is that more of them will be in a limited roster. If it just turns too the same 4 Pokémon again then I'll be horribly disappointed. However if I can even see a variety of 50 Pokémon or more I think it will be a success.
I'm also jealous of the Jr's division cause all of them are using there own super cool teams and the older divisions are just playing basic power teams for easy wins uwu.

I'll just have to wait and see.. Current opinion wait for review before I decide to buy.

Also I am exaggerating a little about only having 4 top tier Pokémon. However I just got really want more variety.

I'm one hundred percent out unless they state they'll patch the rest back in later I'm devastated to say my pokemon adventures will end on the 3DS

I cancelled my preorder as soon as I heard about the news about not programming all the Pokemon in and the bs things they said as to why they're cutting some out. Better animation? Double-kick is the same as X and Y. Also, T-posing Wingull. I am voting with my wallet and not be preordering the game. If I really want to play Sword and Shield, I'll be getting it used.

I do agree. I do want the game since i have no played the series since Ruby and as long as the game has Gengar in it i would be fine with it but i just can't support laziness. I'm surprised people are only just now complaining about this stuff when Gamefreak has been doing stuff like this with their Pokemon games for years now.
