Well..once again I'm getting into my feelings. And normally I find it better to type it out then saying it.
So...I read an article that an 8-year old boy from my hometown by the name of Gabriel Reynolds unfortunately took his own life 2 years ago because he was assaulted and bullied. I don't know the boy personally but the fact that it happened, especially to someone who had a bright future ahead of him, really hurts me. This is an epidemic for young kids and I personally have had enough of this.
I know too well what it's like to be bulled. I had to transfer from school to school from grade school up until high school because of it. 7th and 8th grade were my most hellish moments of my life because those years were the peak of the bullying. I even had so many moments during those times where I thought of killing myself because of the bullying I had to endure. I was fortunate enough to have the support I needed to make it through those times and finally had a better life when I went to high school.
Unfortunately, not everyone has had that help like I did. And now kids who haven't even made double digits in their ages as well as teens are learning how to kill themselves because of bullying and other things. The way I see it right now, bullying is a person's way of indirectly killing someone (suicide). I for one cannot stand it because I've been there. So to anyone who has children, anyone who teaches kids, or even a nice Samaritan please please PLEASE, teach them that bullying is wrong and how it can have serious consequences. Also for those that are being bullied teach them that they can go to their parents or someone they can trust if something is wrong, because it can be fixed with the right help. These kids are the future and there is no reason that they need to end it themselves. My prayers goes to the family.
