Need Feedback On Affordable Cost of Living Cities

So it came to my attention that my town's public transit company are being tightwads, so which is resulting in a severe shortage of operable buses and drivers to make all the scheduled routes reliably. It's bad enough the cost of living is way too damn high for me to live on my own. So while I'm saving up my money every month to move out, I'm highly considering moving out of state tentatively 2021. So far from friends I've heard Columbus, Ohio and Omaha, Nebraska are good places to live in. I could use some help from you guys who may have knowledge of affordable cities. Figure I can do my research until it's time for me to decide to move.

Live in Ohio now (Not near Columbus :P) lol Got a small apartment like place on the parent's property so I can't tell you much on rent prices. We got some good low cost grocery stores as well that you can get so good and healthy eats. Bus routs are good out in Cleveland and Columbus.

Cool. Yeah my dad is driving his friend back to Columbus end of next month. Hence how he suggested that place.

You should go take a look. I can't tell you what bus service is like since I've never used it but I know it's there heh.

Looking at Morgantown West Virginia. 1 bedrooms are cheap out there. =o Plus I'd be close to friends of my dad's who are moving to Maryland soon. As well as AC and OOO.

Boston is expensive but the public transportation is A+ reliable as heck. You can reliably commute into Boston from half a state away on public transit for only a couple bucks a day.

You're not gonna find rent cheaper than about 700 bucks though, no matter how hard you look.

I'm on a fixed income being on Disability so my budget is no more than 500-600/month. Dad suggested Morgantown, WV. Prices for 1 bedrooms aren't bad and is centrally located to friends and Anthrocon.

If you found a roommate that's enough to live just about anywhere, tbh. Though I'm guessing that would be a challenging living situation for you.

Yeah, finding a room mate would be a challenge and one that doesn't have drama and their life together.
