France is wounded: the fire of Notre Dame

by
As someone who has some French blood (two great-great grandmothers), I can say this is a great tragedy, the burning of the wooden structure of the Notre Dame cathedral, but not one that cannot be restored, at least for the great cathedral itself.

It is a serious wound for Paris and for France, but it shall be rebuilt, and it will stand for the world once more.

The crowne of thorns *said to be worn by Christ himself* survived the fire

Notre Dame has survived riots, civil wars, invasions, Frollo, time, and tide.  Fortunately, restoration work was already gearing up, so they'll have a jumpstart on repairs.  It will be rebuilt because... it's Notre Dame.
