The last hurrah - a message to the patrons

Dear Patrons/Friends/Viewers,

Today is the day where I, Escopeto, am crying. Those tears are shed ambigously, for it is the interpretation of the cause that determines the expression. It has been over a year (more precisely, 15 months) since me and DreamcastZX1 (going now by SuperBunnyGT), have joined forces to create comics for ourselves and everyone else to enjoy.

We humbly began with our most famous comic "Sonic: Riding Dirty", and from there on both of us gave their best to deliver the same quality weekly. The person you've been talking to and who took care of organizing this account as well as write/pencil sketch the comics has always been me, while DreamcastZX1 handled the inks/colours and bits of the writing. I really, really hope that I treated every one of you with the same respect and devotion that you have gracefully given to me. Whenever there was a delay, an announcement or any sort of interaction, it has been important to be as serviceable to the audience as possible, for it is the patrons that kept the gig running. May you be bestowed with tears of joy.

That said, it all worked well to a certain extent. After a while we were forced to restructure our schedules due to our private lives, and we have announced from the beginning that we'll keep you informed. Still, we pushed to bring out Five complete comics in total (plus Bonus content) and despite some bumps, the run has been a blast. Until today, where things are meeting their climax. Many of you might have heard about my partner going AWOL, and while I cannot sanction the way he took, I have to respect it and wish him well. It is here that I shed tears of sadness upon the end of a good thing. There could have been more, but perhaps it is best to quit while ahead. I'll always remember the good times we had creating these comics, because they massively outweigh the sour ocassions.

Words cannot express the gratitude we both want to give to you, the individual patron, for your selfless contribution to our cause. As part of a collective who has graciously sponsored DreamRifle, please accept my tears of gratitude and may you enjoy the artistic cake you helped to bake!

What happens now? What will the future bring? Who knows. Do not fret, rest assured that DreamRifle has met precautions for this event, so all of you current patrons will not go out with unfinished business. We have discussed this outcome beforehand and have finished the current comics so that we can all part ways in peace. They will be uploaded over the next weeks. There is still one final page of "King takes Queens" coming. To all of you who are now wiser, I don't condone any of you retiring their pledges. On the contrary;  I encourage you to withdraw your pledge if you feel it's okay to do. We'll upload the rest of the comics regardless and keep the acount functional until the end of July. This is important for the 7$ "Mother Load" patrons, because they'll get their chance to download all comics including the current ones plus bonuses in a bundle until that day. I'll personally prepare the files and will give you ocassion and time to do so. Starting with May I'll be reposting zip downloads of all our comics. Until the very end everyone will get served, and for that I shed tears of satisfaction, knowing that all ties are undone for the finale.

If I have any tears of regret, they're spent on things that could've been and possibly on spare commenting on the uploads. But really, those are forced pickings because the entire experience was a huge treat. There is not much more to say, so for one last time I will thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the time we spent together.

If anyone has any questions or requests, please send a message anytime. I'll answer each one of them. Obviously we do not take requests or suggestions due to these comics being our final exposés, and I cannot disclose any detail to my partner's situation. Wether or not all comics will be distributed to the public takes further consideration, but I'll try to decide in your favour. No more prolonging - Thank you all for your support, we appreciate all feedback (good and bad), it has been an excellent run and have my tears of a fond farewell!

Sincerely,

Escopeto

While I may never have been a patron myself, I respect the way you reach out to them with these important updates and such.

Good on ya.

Thank you very much Shadowwalk, the communication was always more important to me than revenue or overscheduling. If you keep your followers informed they're glad to be part of the circle, therefore they gladly return.

So does this mean you yourself are also stopping commissions and such?
Escopeto

Not quite, though I'm only ocassionally doing commissions. Whenever there's a journal announcing them you'll know.

Both of you did an amazing job with your work and I'm only sad I never got to be a patron myself.

Does the last hurrah mean the patreon itself is over but you'll still be posting up here on inkbunny?

I'm really happy to hear that you feel that way, and it's always sad when good things come to an end.

To answer your question: Dreamrifle is indeed done, but I'll post on inkbunny ocassionally still.

Hey there. I wanna say it's sad it's happened. I hope in the future that someday we would meet again. Dreamcastzx inspired me on a certain number of things and help me improve.
