I'm not sure when I want to do it. I'm tentatively settling on 5 or 6 pm (pst) on Sunday, and then around the same time every day for the next week. I want to read for about an hour and hopefully get far enough through with an opportunity to add some commentary and react to anyone's insights in the chat. I want to practice reading out loud and I have an absolute adoration for this classic sci-fi novel.
I don't quite know what to expect trying to do this. Nor do I quite know what the levels of cringe will be present with my voice and trying to do something a little bit outside my comfort zone, but even if no one shows up, I'll probably just stream to the ether and record for posterity. Practice makes better!
I don't think anyone would need any visual information for this, so you can always listen in the background and do other stuff. I'll incorporate some ambiance noises for the background.
If you want to listen to Tacki read the first "Dune" novel by Frank Herbert, I'll post up the official time around Saturday night or Sunday morning. Let me know if you want to be there, but another time would work better for you. I should be able to alter the time to cater to any interested furs out there.
I only read books once. I read the entire dune cycle (the entire one... entire... so so long..) and it was a good read, with lots of lengths, and some can be unpleasant for an audience

The first one is good for an audience I think. But I'll agree. Some of the later books are a bit esoteric. Not that that's a bad thing. I like how the series evolves.
