I’ve seen lots of speculation about what types the new starters will evolve into, and what they’ll look like. Why no speculation on which egg groups they belong to? OK so here’s how I see it...
Scorbunny: Most likely, Field. I’d be surprised if it isn’t. But I can maybe see it also fitting into Humanlike. Buneary is humanlike, and with the athlete theme that could end up happening to Scorbunny too. There’s also a slim chance it could go into Fairy, but it’s not likely. Just Field seems likelier to me though.
Sobble: 6/7 Water type starters ended up in Water 1 (not sure why Oshawott didn’t) so I see Sobble going there too. It could end up just Water 1 like Froakie, or possibly Monster or Field. There’s a minute chance it could find its way to Dragon? Not too likely, but possible.
Grookey: Another good candidate for Field, and could also end up in Humanlike, like Chimchar did. Honestly, those are the only two groups I can really see it in. Unless it somehow ends up in Grass, which is also somewhat possible. Treecko, Chespin, and Rowlet weren’t in Grass, so...
