I realize.....

.....I'm pretty much on my own in the furry community, except for those I've already communicated with. I don't really know any people and don't have any friends at the moment. Every time I see others communicating or messaging others, I feel super alone. I've tried saying hi to others, joined chat rooms and groups trying to get to know others, and believe me when I say I love getting to know people, but I just get super shy and intimidated. Plus, I don't normally like to make the first move at times when getting to know people. I know I'll make friends here; I'm normally a naturally happy person, it's just it gets tiring and bothersome when you don't have others to talk to. I guess I just need to push myself and start communicating more and make an effort into trying to make friends here.

I sorta understand the feeling. I want to put myself out there in the fandom and stuff, but I'm way to shy and no matter how many times others tell me it's fine, I always feel like I'm bothering them when I message them.

Yes! Exactly the same! Luckily, I've been getting more used to it now.

I do know the feeling. I actually used to be and still am a pretty shy person. It takes me a little bit to warm up to people and actually talk to them.

I may not fully understand the struggles of someone who is shy, but I am an introvert, so I can definitely empathize with you there.

But, just coming from my experience as someone who is an introvert in an extroverted world/community; You can't let the fear of embarrassment or rejection take control. The fear of losing might always be there, but losing isn't failure. Failure is giving up before you ever even really tried.

*Pats shoulder* All it takes is the first step, you're never alone as long as you don't allow yourself to be. You'll win some, you'll lose some in situations, that's just life in a nutshell.

" “Like everyone else, you want to learn the way to win, but never to accept the way to lose. To accept defeat, to learn to 'die', is to be liberated from it. So when tomorrow comes, you must free your ambitious mind and learn the art of dying.”

Just be willing to gamble taking that first step, and the results may surprise you. ;)
