Going Ko-Fi Cold Turkey

We've been removed from the donation site Ko-Fi as of yesterday.

Our account was put under review (though we were never told of this until someone else checking the links found out it was broken) and yesterday they told us they'd be ending our account, not for posting adult stuff on our account there, but rather for being linked to a site that does have adult work linked to it, ie. Twitter.

On the plus side, we weren't getting much from Ko-Fi, but had wanted it to be there for people who do use it to make it more convenient. On the negative side, we'll have to be more careful of external sites now, as Ko-Fi took this route because they said they were getting pressure from PayPal to crack down on things like that. So always being paranoid about what PayPal might do next.

Anyway, to sum it up, Ko-Fi is out. But thanks to those who did drop us a $1 or two through there.

Now, back to the drawing board.

I think Commiss.io uses Stripe for payments.  Fees look to be about the same as Paypal, so maybe an alternative.  Their blog says they don't allow adult content either, but they also dislike enforcing that one because they don't like having to do it, but some of their partners refuse to work with them otherwise.  So....I don't know if Commiss.io does donations, or just a place to post commissions.  This will require more research.  That being said, I might open up the option of using Stripe, once I figure out their invoice system.  I have been doing research into other payment options for awhile now, and most of them just charge out the ass, or would require me to set up a second account to handle invoices.  IE: Google wallet, but I would need to use someplace like hive (I think that is their name) to actually invoice stuff.

Commiss.io is great. They'll even cover you on chargebacks up to a certain limit (in addition to helping stop chargebacks from happening to begin with.)

it seems ko-fi has this policy of 0 adult stuff but they never check anyone unless you are reported, if you want just make it again and just tell people to find you with no links to it

All this banning on adult stuff. Paypal shouldn't be the porn police. I think they (and donations sites) are way out of line.

Self-righteous pieces of s*** need to stop making excuses to ruin things everyone else likes.  They did it even though there's no adult content.  I mean, imagine if you posted your username on two sites, and one banned you just for being mentioned on the other.  I looked a Booth, but I'm sure they'll get the same treatment soon.
