Too damned white....

I know its one of those ask a professional things but, would any of you know why my legs don't tan?

I know! Simple question and I know I don't get a whole lot of sun, however the issue is since I've noticed, my legs do not get tanned or burnt regardless of exposure. I wear shorts and a T-shirt effectively every day of the year, rain, snow, or blistering heat since about the age of 12... I've tried actively sunning them, sleeping in the back of the truck to kill time, and many miles walked in the blistering sun, we are talking 100f + and no clouds... My arms will come out redder than most flags but my legs pearly white every time....

Like I would ask my doctor or a dermatologist but this isn't that kind of issue and the online groups want $40 to tell me fuck all... So you all it is...

On a related note, I also don't feel heat on my legs below the knew and I figure that is an "always in shorts" issue.

Why Legs don’t tan as much as the rest of the body?
Melanin is the number one contributing factor of the whole tanning process. The activation and production of melanin is responsible for skin pigmentation and the dark colour on your skin. Compared to the rest of the body, skin on the legs does not produce the same amount of melanin, which results in legs getting less tan.
Skin on the legs is thicker and harder and the UV light from the sun or sunbeds cannot easily penetrate it. The skin is also dryer, resulting in quicker exfoliation of the outermost layers. What is more, dry skin usually reflects the UV light, making the whole tanning process less effective.
For women, the process of tanning their legs is more difficult, since they shave or wax frequently. In this way, they exfoliate the top layers of their already tanned skin.

You mentioned snow in your journal...That tells me you live in a latitude where the sun's rays are not as direct as it would be nearer to the Equator. That could be part of your dilemma.
That is not an issue for me however as I am biracial...which there is an old saying that was jokingly coined about that which goes..."Not white enough, not black enough".

I am 200 miles north of the Mexican Border and effectively where they filmed Breaking Bad, Red Dawn and a few others. https://www.imdb.com/list/ls051429607/

The temp goes from -40 to 120f in a year and 100% sun most of the year.

While on vacation in Indonesia, one of the stops was Komodo Island.
My face and arms were ok, but the reflected sunlight on the beach turned my legs into boiled lobsters.

I would consider it a blessing, personnally, as I tend to burn to a crisp (I'm talking red lobster worthy) and still barely getting a tan. I know it doesn't help, but figure, it could be worse.

Sounds like your legs are producing they're own Sunblock or something o_O . I don't know what the he ks going on, but I woudn't let word get out to the big Sunscreen coporations. They'll likely try to hunt you down and kill you before genetic reserch can be done on you to find a way to protect people from the sun forever XD .
