Life-plans, updates for future, Furry conventions etc.

After a quite depressing past journal (I am very sad for this because i dislike myself people who only complain and vent on life etc.), i wanted to make a little update about general update situation that could affect:
1) Potential partecipation in Furrycon/meetings
2) Potential random meetings with close furries or hosting people.

---------

After some days of troubled thinking (also with family), I am now working to start what in italy calls a "University's Master": that's NOT the master degree, but more like a shorter (1year) post-graduate course.

I have already a bachelor and a master degree in Biology, but the job situation here  it's terrible.
This course it's about Molecular Diagnostics: techniques i partially studied already for my master degree and applied for my lab. experience. Potentially could be a good extra step, opening more space for working in hospitals.

---------

Currently I am  not exactly cheerful at the prospect of studying again a dozen of university courses that require time&efforts&patience (genetics, advanced laboratory techniques etc.). Cheering-up chats with friends are very welcome for this reason (especially talking for fandom-related things).

---------

While obviously plans for biggest cons like Eurofurence or Confuzzled cannot be made, I am also uncertain when the laboratory part (stage) will occurs and thus i am unable so far to know if could take part to the switz. Golden Leaves con, or the spanish Furrnion con (both in October). If the first part (lessons) go fine this spring, I would love to keep contacts with people going at european cons in late autumn.

-------

Concerning fur-meetings or just random meetings, it is LIKELY that for this spring i will still live in my home (close Milan) and take train for the lessons in Novara city (a stunning cool city btw).
I fear that I should move to Novara temporarily for the follow-up laboratory stage: I cannot dictat when this will happens (June? July?) but could means i will be unable to host furries or meet them in Milan during this period.

furry cons are a huge waste of money. I like con but if you got bigger fish to fry don't worry about skipping them, what are you really missing out on besides the opportunity to waste a bunch of money that'd be better spent on shelter and food.

Do you want to work in hospitals? Isn't there a big market there for experimental medicine?

I've been already in cons and i quite love them. It's up to everyone, also not all enjoy a con in the same way.
I like the smaller ones (not the big crowded ones), where i can meet furries or artists i sporadically know on internet and i spend most of the times talking over shared love for books, literature, anmations, other artists etc.
This plus the general scenario of a different place/country often matched with a couple of extra days before or after the con as tourist.

The "want" it's not exactly something i am talking about. If i can speak of desires, that was working in close contact with wildlife and for studies and preservation of species (for example i made some field camps for the italian wolves back in high school). During college i realized how working in the field of ecology was more something like... "what? you expect to be PAID? haha". Thus i moved (for my master degree) on general laboratory techniques for a study on water safety (bacteria presence in water etc.). But even this it's an extremely poor field: industries "hire" people for quality controls on bacteria and other contaminants with extremely short-term and totally underpaid contracts.
Hospital and medicine however it's a field with more funds, and while they search for specialized people i have already some extra "scores", and this post-grad course could adds the more needed ones.

It's something I do not hate, and it's reasonably the likely way to attept gaining a job that's not a joke in terms of $$.

Obviously the eventual attempt (that many i know try) it's searching for job outside the country. I am not against this option, but having the opportunity to take this extra step for my curriculum (and general technical knowledge), i could take it.

You might not be able to physically go to furcons, but you can still potentially experience them. Why not ask people to take videos of the furcons with you, and chat with you while they are at the furcons, but not technically in them (like when they take breaks or go to their hotel rooms). If you have friends going to the furcon, and they have a cellphone, they should be able to help you out by doing this for you. Its not the same, but its better than nothing, right?

Nah... this is absolutely not something i would be up to. A con for me it's a place where i actually "go", "move", scroll comic book/samplet, look artist face-to-face, walk from room to room, talk to people in persons and so on. Doing it by phone would be just a tease. Anyway I do not cut away the chance for going in cons later on this year: just i am currently unable to say which one i could go because i don't know if i will be free for them in October. Have just to wait and see

Edit: I wrote with "keeping in contact" mostly because if i will be free, it could be something i will find out very suddenly. So i would need to get quickly in touch with some con organizer and make quick plans to join at the last minute xd
