It's 2019

by
Back in 1982, I escaped a psychiatric hospital to go watch a movie that would impact my life deeply. If you have ever read my comics you know what movie is that. My comic strip is full of elements inspired by that movie's aesthetics.

That movie took place in the year 2019. Back then it felt like a distant future.

Now I'm there.

I'm kind of disappointed it doesn't look as cool as I expected.

But hey! I made to the future!!!!

Happy New Year everyone!

Time...to die.

I'm planning to say those words when I die. Except I'll probably substitute the end for "farts in the wind"

As much as I like the aesthetic, maybe it's best we don't live in that particular future ;)

HOW ARE YOU NOT A MAD MAGAZINE ARTIST? This, right here, is a MAD origin story if ever there was one.

Mad is long gone. The present version has little to do with the old times Mad.

Also, I'm not good at making art for others.

W-wait. What happened to Mad?

Time, I guess?

Last time I checked a Mad magazine the art and humor was nothing like the Mad I used to love. I guess new artists have been taking over for the old guys. There is still some stuff that looks like the old style, but in general, the magazine didn't feel it had the spirit of the classic Mad. And that was a few years ago.
