And so another Stocking Stuffer 2018 comes to an end. Not with a bang, like I'd wanted, but with the sniffles. Specifically, I came down with a sickness of some sort yesterday, and am still working on getting over it. I was so out of it yesterday I barely even was functional. Much less capable of uploading the last 2 pieces I had prepared. But it's cool. I slept for about twelve hours and now feel almost human.
Well, almost SAPIENT anyway.
So while I do have a few extra stories laying around, I'ma gonna sit on them for a little bit longer, to give myself stuff to upload during January. Especially because I'm feeling a bit burnt out after pushing myself writing-wise for two months to get what I got done done. Stocking Stuffer 2018 was fun, and I hope to do another one next year (With more participation from others though- gotta get better at promoting this event somehow) but for now, it's time to rest from writing for a bit. Don't worry about me vanishing and never returning - If nothing else I've got 2 more entries of Courtship I still need to upload over the next two months, plus the Collab with Tiran Master to finish, and I've got another, non-kink (GASP!) project I'm eager to show people that's essentially a collab with someone else that was an amazing idea that I love and they should be proud of thinking up. I'm gonna be around.
But the sad fact of the matter is, I don't make money off of this. And as I get older, it becomes a bit more important to me to make a sustainable income that could support me, and hypothetically a boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife and maybe kids. I've got a Kofi account (Right here: http://ko-fi.com/T6T58SCO) that maybe 3 people over the course of 1.5 years have used to tip me. I might be able to make money opening up a patreon, but I remain skeptical in my own ability to maintain a consistent update schedule (which is almost required to sustain a customer base in Patreon). I might be able to make some money doing commissions, and actually there may be an announcement coming about something to that extent sometime very soon when I'm not sick, but... well, that's in the future. And I'd be going into competition with other, talented furry writers I honestly don't want to compete with if I tried to do commissions full time.
Please don't mistake the paragraph above for complaining. It is merely observations. I enjoy writing, and enjoy creating, and while I wish my works were a bit more popular (or at least got more comments, I love seeing people talking about what I write!) I enjoy this as a hobby and want to continue getting better and better at it. It is a dream of mine to have a novel published, and I still intend on chasing that dream. But I'm a Level 1 writer, (2, 3 at best) and I kind of want to level grind a bit first. Even so, I want to say something:

I've got christmas presents to enjoy, and I need to get serious about something that actually WILL translate into better paying opportunities for me (Security + Certification) so I'm going to be a bit more distant writing-wise for a bit. It's time for me to work on some other aspects of my life for a bit, with Stocking Stuffer 2018 accomplished.
