Yep, got set up with some guy. It went like this:
Me: Hang out in bar for ten minutes, guy shows up. Awkwardly shake hands.
Order drinks, I get cheap swill, he gets fancy beer.
Muddled introductions.
Me: So what kinda tunes are you into?
Him: "Hmmm, Whatever is on the radio I guess. I like pop music and techno. You?"
Me: "Oh I like all kinds of stuff but have a pretty big soft spot for like Thrash, Death, black metal, loud stuff, I also like some darker ambient stuff. All kinds of things honestly.
Him: Losing interest. "Oh yeah never really got into that kinda stuff, I'm not a big music guy."
Me: So what do you do for work?
Him: "Going to law school right now, working on becoming and environmental lawyer specializing in litigation." Goes on for about 20 minutes about law school stuff.
Me: "I'm a bowling alley mechanic. ^___^"
Him: "That sounds neat, Is that like a part time kind of thing?"
Me: No. :(
Him: "Ahh cool. Must make good money being a mechanic.
Me: "Enough to get by, and buy some toys."
Him: "Cool."
Awkward silence
Silence broken by drunk friends at bar talking to me about metal show we went to.
Friends leave, awkward small talk. Finish drinks.
Him: "Well I got a long drive home ahead of me, you have a great night."
Business like handshake.
Me: " Have a good one." Finish drink, stare at bar top, have another drink, stare at bar counter.
