MFF

Well this has been the first time attending Midwest Furfest for me and my Bun Bun. I must say it's been a whole new experience for the both of us.

Unlike Antheocon MFF was pretty damn brutal on our bodys. The registration line was an absolute mad house. That combined with all the walking we did left us tired, sore, and worn out.

Also my fursuit took a pounding due to the dense crowds and all the interacting with others I did. Took me a couple of hours to get Tamias brushed down and cleaned. I still have to get some woolite on his outdoor foot paws to get them fully cleaned up.

But despite the pounding the both of us and my fursuit took, we had a blast. I got to meet my awesome Native Anerican friend Juniper Squirel (TonyaSong on FA). His performance of O Holy Night during the Fox Amoore and Peppers concert moved me to tears. No kidding on that. He has the voice of an angel. Also, I got to talk to him and give him a big hug after the show.

Also bun bun and I rode the El into downtown Chicago to eat at Pizzeria Uno which checks off a big item on my bucket list. While in downtown we walked down to the Chicago Loop just to take in the hustle and bustle and really soak in the energy of it all. Bun bun is surely impressed with Chi-town.

Back to the con. Bun bun and I got to meet Golden Wolf, Barkley Beaver, Fender / Cooper Tom, Brisket (Rainbow Trot), Kenny Kitsune, Majira Strawberry, the head of the Rodent Group (wish I could remember his name), a couple of fellow B3 Mascot fursuiters, and several of my facebook followers.

Lessons learned from this years MFF. Book early and make sure to book any of the hotels connected to the skybridge system. If you don't weather is gonna dictate when you can and can't fursuit.

Also when I take in roomies, I will be handling things differently from here on. This year's MFF is the first time I took in roomies to help cut hotel costs. There are a few lessons bun bun and I learned from that.

But overall MFF has been a boat load of fun for bun bun and I. Its definitely worth coming back to.

The numbers:
Atendees: 10,700
Charity Donations: 92,000 USD

As for my future con plans. I may have to dial it down a bit for awhile. Doing AC and MFF in one year plus job issues took there toll on my finances. So after we get back home my top priority will be getting my finances and income back in order, along with squaring away some other pressing matters so we can sustain the con scene and eventually travel more.

For those that attended MFF, I hope you had as much fun as we did. For those that havn't been to MFF, come attend. Its hectic, but what a blast this con is!!
