Re: the Jack O'Lobotomy.
In my CASPER IN OZ book, considered by me as the pinnacle of my work, I detail the fact that Jack Pumpkinhead had to undergo head transplants periodically (his head was mortal, tho his body of planks and nails wasn't).
He would scoop out seed pulp from his head and grow new pumpkins from such, selecting the best to be his new head. Thus his memories would be in his new head.
I cleared up that & other mysteries & such in my Oz novel.
