hello! i'm excited to say that i was able to get the username change i really wanted, and with it, i hope to get a new bite at this being an artist thing. first, about the name change. my old username, naughtyfoxnoc, has always been a bit.... well, cringey. i picked it because 'nocturne', the name of my primary character, was taken. which is no surprise. but the username has always put a bad taste in my mouth. couple that with the fact that Nocturne is just a character. he's one i love, but he's not 'me'. so! how did i come about the name Merlin? that's actually a strangely twisting story, but it starts with my fursona. like most furries i've bounced around from animal to animal a bit, trying to find the right fit. but i've always wanted something that really sinks in. so i stared putting my paws to paper. i settled on a Welsh Corgi. they're adorable, and fun and funny! when i was looking for names, a friend of mine suggested that since they are welsh, and they have legends about being the riding dogs for fairies, a 'magical' name would be fitting. and since Merlin was likely a Pict... it just sort of fits! so Merlin the Corgi is born.
i've had this idea for awhile and have slowly been trying to work out just what he looks like and all that jazz, and thinking about moving forward. recently i decided to take the plunge so to speak, and, after a few struggles, it's in place.
so, the future! you'll find my work here, obviously. over at furaffinity i cant rename my account, and the username Merlin is taken anyway, so when i post there it'll be under the old name, unfortunately. i hope to start putting out more work and to start building a gallery i can be proud of. i'm going to try and dig in and do this!
hopefully you'll see some pictures of my new sona, as well as more artwork featuring nocturne and a bunch of other things soon!
