Obligatory post about the changing tides in brazil

hello there folks, i see a lot of people who are left leaning in my country been making an unwarranted fuss about the fact that we just elected a conservative president.
i feel they don't grasp the fact that most of our country is conservative in nature, and that the previous government where nothing more than criminals that leeched off the hard working citizen.
it's alright for people on the middle class to not grasp what the wishes of the people who are of the working class want or feel about things.
it's kinda hard to accept that your economic class is blind to the waves of change that happen on normal people, when they get fucked over the feelings of a out of touch cast of society.
as a fellow social Darwinist, I've experienced what poverty has to offer, and the injustices the working class have to deal with without any way to defend themselves.
they don't grasp that prohibiting the law-abiding citizen of having any ways to defend themselves just empower criminals more.
this is just based on feelings, the fear of firearms, the lack of knowledge about how tools work.
tools don't act, guns don't kill people.
people kill people.
i'm tired of seeing law abiding citizens being cannon fodder for criminals and corrupt people alike.
can't help but feel sad about how similar our situation is to the U.S., and well, if the U.S. proved something, it's that change isn't bad, and focusing on your own country's interest, is not something selfish.
a country isn't a monolith, it's people.
the people that hold it together, they will not stay quiet forever, in fact, they just spoken...
i don't like talking about politics and alike, but i feel i shall offer my point of view, since the rest is all unwarranted vitriol.
anyways, sorry for this if you don't care.

Weird seeing someone talk about the middle class not being the working class. Not disagreeing, just different here.

I mean, he won election fair and square right? I'd be hopeful ^^ The people have had one method and it was not good enough, so they want something different. I'm hopeful it works out well, Brazil seems like a really cool place =3

As strange as it is to make a political comment using a pornographic account, I must say that it's not that Bolsonaro is "conservative" - it's that he would rather have a dead son than a gay son, it's that he praised the dictatorship on everything except their torture (which he thought wasn't harsh enough). Add to that the fact that there were, what, 54 million abstainees in this election? Bolsonaro could easily not be the majority's choice, and even if he is, the Brazilian left (not to mention the Brazilian LGBT+ community) has reason to fear, for their jobs and in some cases their lives.

-ignores the context he said that
that is in fact a very dated quote, and that was the status quo at the time.
i feel your lack of knowledge about brazilian culture might blindside you with that
we only started respecting the rights and the existence of lgbt people very recently, and it's still faulty.
but as far as i'm concerned, he didn't express any hatred of them when it comes to his policies.
he can hate gays, that's a right of his, the important thing now is if he is gonna live up to his promises.
