*UPDATE* Fuck Windows

Either I'm just bad with technology or Windows is starting to suck cock...

So, I bought a Dell gaming laptop a few months ago. Works great, I can play games and they render perfectly. But...I can safely say Windows 10 is a cheap ass system to run. I usually don't have problems with Windows. They're cheaper than Macs (which is good for me since I can't exactly afford Apple products on account of I'm strapped for money, and you know this is true when taking into account I paid about 800 and change total between the system itself and a 1 tb hard drive and those Macbook airs or whatever cost in the thousands). But since, like, yesterday, I've been having major problems. For one, Windows likes to automatically update your computers, which I never looked up how to block that. And you're kinda forced into it; where you go to shut down the system, it will change to say "Update and shut down" instead of just "shut down". So I did it. I updated my computer the day before yesterday. After doing so, it seemed to do fine. Then I turned it off and came back to it last night. Only to find that, for some reason, my audio was muted, and checking it showed that it wasn't registering an audio source. So I looked up the solutions and chose a system restore as an option to restore my audio driver. Which seemed to work just fine. My audio worked, everything seemed to run fine. I wake up this morning and boom. I get a message that it's not loading correctly and needs a restart. Then it goes into automatic repair and then tells me automatic repair didn't work and gives me a whole bunch of options to fix it. I have since tried all options of fixing it barring a factory reset. And I'm met with obstacle after obstacle. I try another system restore, it won't let me select a drive to restore. I try going back to a previous version, it tells me it can't. The only thing I haven't tried is a factory reset, but that is my absolute LAST option.

I have a lot of stuff on my laptop. A lot of the stuff I have backed up on my old laptop. But anything added from when I first bought the computer to now would be lost in a factory reset. I really don't want to have to go through all that hassle. So, word of warning. Don't be like me. Keep your crap diligently stored and backed up on a separate storage drive. And be careful when using Windows cause it is Windows.

Champ out.
