I am writing my own Godzilla fan story based on the original characters with original monsters and new creatures in the lore. This was was idea I had since I was little back then in the early 2000s I had came up with a lot stories just haven't told people about it. I was a Godzilla fan back then and I had a lot of Godzilla toys so of course I made story about it like the other stories I made.
The story does take place from the Showa era with a few changes that led to the present day events.

Around 1954 when the nuclear bomb hit the east it awaken a ancient legend from before the world was ruled by man the species was known by the island people as Gojira but the Americans dubbed it as Codename: Godzilla. A archaeological team formed by the governments of the world was created as Monarch was sent to the islands to study the monster when they came across the truth about the past. 1 million years ago the world was ruled by monsters the Science team named Titans after the monsters from Greek mythology these Titans were worshiped as gods by the early society of man. From around the world these Titans had remained hidden within the world til' one day their are needed to rise. Many of the legends state that the eldest of the Titans are not from Earth and are referred to as Rulers of Evil. The eldest of the Titans was discovered in the arctic frozen in battle and is noted it remained sealed in the ice.
As for Godzilla he rained destruction on the world for the terror that man had done to the world with their weapons and science Godzilla views mankind as a disease and tries to balance the world back into order. In the Years Godzilla has faced other monsters even ones from other worlds. Later a infant similar species to Godzilla was discovered where Godzilla first emerge and is depicted as Godzilla's child. The infant had a love for mankind and often protect them from other monsters. But it all changed when a scientist who once worked with Monarch built a device to destroy oxygen in sea life which killed Godzilla leaving the infant all alone and hide in the see.
For the past years since the first Godzilla's Emergence the world evolved in Technology and the Monarch organization continued their work in secret so the younger generation would never know the truth behind the Titans but eventually the Lord of Order will emerge again for vengeance.
