Decreased frequency of pictures

When I started drawing in 2008, I was a junior in college. I had a studio dorm to myself and began playing around with MS paint pics, which were all terrible. My senior year, I used to bike from my apartment to the campus library to make 3pac pictures, because I had roommates and couldn't draw at home. The library on campus was huge and something like 20 stories, and there were little desk cubicles scattered all around, with many situated in corners where I could have my back to the wall and work on rule 34 pics. It seems like a lifetime ago. At this time, I experimented with a short lived alternate account known as Ixtlilton, given scathing insults and reviews of my pics on Paheal.

I graduated in 2010 and took a year off before grad school. I moved back in with my dad who was having a midlife crisis and was going out partying multiple times a week. I loved to go out for certain events like karaoke and some pub crawls, but I often was dragged along without really wanting to be there. But I wanted to take care of him since he would get super wasted and shouldn't be driving. It was overall a good time because we are very close, and I still continued expanding my 3pac portfolio as a hobby, and a regular contributor to Furaffinity, Paheal, and the defunct rule34.com and WWOEC forums. It was around this time that I joined Inkbunny as well, in 2011.

In later 2011 I started graduate school, which is an entirely different beast than undergrad, and I decided to "quit" drawing. I had a lot of negative reviews of my artwork for good reason; if you look at anything prior to 2012, my style was severely underdeveloped. I began with MS paint, then used vectormagic.com to smooth my MS paint pics, then finally discovered Paint Tool Sai.

The utility of the program honed my art style quite a bit, and was reinvigorated to continue drawing. Around this time I started the "Crossing of the Universes" saga. But shortly after finishing the first stretch of the series, when it was revealed Robotnik and Discord were responsible for the crossing, I decided not only to end the series, but to quit drawing all together. The main reason this time was because I was starting my second year of grad school, and the work load was increasing. I figured I needed to put my attention there.

However, the lure to create shenanigans did not go away, and I decided to split my artwork between my humorous account 3pac, and a new account known as That Smeargle. That Smeargle was designed to host my non-comical more sensual pictures, with 3pac for the Sonic and MLP comics. That Smeargle got a huge chunk of my watchers, because I promoted it as my alternate account at the time for more mainstream, solo pictures.

It was at this time that I was at the highlight of my art career, because I was twice featured on Paheal, had about 1500 watchers on FA and hundreds of watchers on inkbunny, and was then approved to have my very own WWOEC page. I had been a fan of and been visiting WWOEC since I was about 15 years old, roughly in 2003. It was a classic site for rule 34, and here I was, approved as an artist. I had to apply through the forums, and it was very exciting to join the community I had respected for so long, and never dreamed of being a contributor for.

I decided to somewhat ironically convert That Smeargle into an account for my outlandish, exaggerated and somewhat horrific MLP and Sonic pictures, and migrate my non-comical works back to 3pac. The account is still around here https://inkbunny.net/thatsmeargle.

A lot happened in 2012. In late 2012, I was banned from FA. I started on FA about a year before joining Inkbunny, and it was my main artwork page, even though I also was part of Inkbunny, WWOEC, Paheal, and technically Hentai Foundry as well. I had a lot of friends, and we became Clan Casino Night, and did our shenanigans. I also competed in some art contests. My old FA page is still visible here https://www.furaffinity.net/user/3pac. and I recommend you take a look.

For many months, their old rule against cub artwork had begun to be enforced. I personally didn't mind the rule, even though I draw pretty much any subject. It was a policy, and so I literally cleared any underaged art pictures I had. However, a policy arose determining that any Sonic character, even if apparantly aged upwards, was a cub, and they cleared my gallery. I reposted my adult Sonic pics in protest, which really pissed them off, and I was banned.

Over the years, my Inkbunny built up until it climaxed right before I decided to switch more to OC characters than mainstream rule 34. The reason I did this was to express creativity, and because I enjoyed designing new OCs, or making jokes.

In 2015, I graduated with my doctorate and began working close to home. My mother died in 2011 after I started grad school, and my father found a new lady in 2012 and mellowed out (a bit at least). In 2015, I changed my name from 3pac to Kirapac to get away from that terrible reference. By now, WWOEC had sadly shut its doors, both the forums and the main site.

At this time, I was financially a mess, having student loans from grad school. More importantly, I was part time at three different places while living near home in 2015, and two of them downsized, leaving me working one day a week. I had to look for a steady position. At this time, I started my commissions through Stripe and Sellfy, and my Patreon page. I also began art character auctions. Thanks to Doomcup, I did bring in some money when I needed it.

In 2016, I moved to the east coast 2900 miles from home for the right job opportunity. I lived in Connecticut until August 2018, and had a nice steady job with a great income. I made so much money, that I got all my student loans paid off, and still saved a lot. In fact, I decided to invest in my own optometry practice, as well as move closer to home to be near dad and his fiance.

It was a crazy decision to leave a steady income and position in an established setting with my own apartment, and move back in temporarily with my dad on the west coast. He had moved further north too, so it is an entirely new location for me. I gave everything up, and have invested over $15,000 personal finances in my own practice. I have had to re-license every time I change states, re-credential with insurance companies (to take for patient payment) and obtain new insurances of my own (malpractice, general liability, workers comp, etc). I've also had to invest in phones, internet, equipment, contact lenses, etc.

Right now is my first week open, and business is expectedly slow, but ultimately this journal is to say that I have very little free time as a new business owner, less even than in grad school, so pictures will be even less frequently produced.

Hey, I'm proud you got yourself a foothold in the world.

Your humorous doodles got me the inspiration for my true avatar and I can't thank you enough for that.
