I think there's a technique to stretch your neck a bit for higher notes (NOT until that thing that is in the throat, rips!!) - but you probably saw singers how they seem to look up and lift the microphone during performance when they sing higher notes ~ that's not just for the show.
...and of course, you need to know your vocal range, and how you could fit the song's scale the best.
But I think you can train your voice. There's (or was) some quite popular music blog where they suggested trying to sing with autotune on, which processes your singing live, that you listen to through headphones, and you kind of correct yourself to it, improving tons in little time.
Then there are shitloads of warm-ups, and using all those belly muscles to control the performance further.
All in all, I think you can nail it!
