Article 13 is here again...

You see right. All those who don't know what this is... This isn't anything good. EU is planning on voting about Article 13 law on September 12th (tomorrow) third, and last, time. In previous voting we just barely won (with 30 voice difference) that the law was rejected. I hope it will be rejected again. If not, then it means that whole internet will be censored inside EU. We no longer won't be able to access on any site where's copyright material. Youtube, DA, Tumblr, InkBunny, AO3, anything would be censored/blocked. We no longer won't be able to create fanfics or fanarts either.

Many of outside EU most surely don't give a damn about this but know that your fave artists and writers inside EU would be blocked. You no longer wouldn't see anything from them.

Anyway, I want to say beforehand, IF this law is accepted, that it has been amazing to spend all these years here on InkBunny! I have create so much arts and fics it has been amazing! I have met so many wonderful people here that I didn't even think such darlings did exist! <3 All the feedback what I have got to my arts and fics, they have been super lovely and supportive which has mean SO MUCH to me! Know I'm forever thankful to all of you about your love and support <3

It has been my pleasure to bring you all so many different emotions with my works and I really, REALLY, wish I could keep doing it. But if not, then I say this;
Thank you all so very, very much from the bottom of my heart.
It has been absolute blast to be here with all of you!

I wish you all the best in life.
Keep your heads up, heart and mind open with positive thoughts and love.
Go after your dreams and live fearlessly!

PS. You can help by clicking first link, click "Act now" and then add your email address and click "submit"! This will automatically send ready email to all MEPs of your country. You can do this even if you would be non-european! So please help!

So then, this kind of shit enforces the Broken Analog Clock Rule about Brexit?
NeiNing

I have no idea but I think this isn't connected to Brexit at all in anyway. What I have understood is that big rich corporations want this article 13 law so that all copyright places online would be blocked so that they would get more money. People are fucking greedy. And stupid.
TheAtomicDog

My point was that this is the kind of hyper-invasive, Big Government thing that Brexit was allegedly executed to avoid.
Broken Analong Clock Rule = even a broken clock tells the right time twice a day = despite how wrong someone might otherwise be, at times they get something right.

That sucks man I don't know what they are trying to pull by xensoring shit but if they think this is ok then they are dead wrong. Its like they are trying to be china.

I think behind all this article 13 stuff is big corporations who just want to block all copyright stuff online so that they would get more money. That's the only reason what I can think of.

It'll just make more people stream it or pirate it and nothing will change. Not everyone has money and they can't stop them
NeiNing

You are so right about that. I mean there's always someone(s) who will find a way to go around the law etc. so it's never ending circle and completely futile from my point of view. There's bigger things on Earth than big greedy asses trying to earn more money by blocking / limiting peoples free will to use internet etc.
Neos8

Too true. This is how I feel on these things:

- someone thinks that they lose money despite making more than anyone when stuff is shared
- others think that anything that doesn't hurt anyone is still a problem despite it
- and like you said greedy asses are still going to get wrecked cause they can't be happy.
NeiNing

Exactly! Making money more is behind this, nothing else.
And now that EU has accept Article 13... Man, it feels bad BUT there's still hope since it's not fully accepted yet. Last and final voting will be on January 2019 so we still have a chance to make this law burn to ashes.

yeah dude and dont let this stop you for drawing cause they cant stop us drawing fan stuff and they never will.
NeiNing

I can always keep drawing yes, but it's sad if I can't submit it anywhere. And even more sad it is if I'm being blocked from all fanart / fanfic sites.

But I don't want to think or worry about Article 13 now anymore. I want to focus on creating stuff and make myself and others happy with it :)

Please, don't give up, NeiNing, there must be other ways to deal with this crap even if that stupid will be sighed (for the God's sake, heck no, i hope it wouldn't). Maybe you can use some VPN service or something. Do you think i'm writing this letter now without using VPN? Heck no, my wonderful country blocked this website long time ago. You think that stopped us, Russians, hell no! We're laughing right in our stupid government faces XDXDXD We do what we want and get what we deserve, cause we're free people with free spirit. And you deserve it too.
But i really hope everything will be fine. Maybe it was just some bullshit storm on TV or smth and nothing will probably happen. At least that sometimes happens in my country.

Thanks. I hope it won't be accepted since it would break freedom of express and speech which would be war crime. I don't think EU really would want to go there. I'm not aware of VPN or what it is, what it does etc. and I'm not sure would it help or anything. But it's so wonderful you guys fight for your rights! <3

And news / TV anywhere on Finland haven't mention about this EU / Article 13 AT ALL! More less people know about this, the better because then the resistant is smaller and EU can do as they please.

I don't know what is going on right now in EU but it doesn't seem nice. In short VPN it's a thing that allows you to use websites your country has blocked. It only works that way, i don't know if you would be able to post or use things with copyrights (i don't know how to properly pronounce this so please don't mind). And does all the fan art counts too? If you wouldn't be able to post any fan art then this law and people who made this suck really hard. Geez, i guess i just don't realize how serious the situation is. I had already sighed the petition, i don't know how can i help more with that. Well, i guess the only thing i can do now is to wish you good luck, buddy.

It's not nice. EU accepted Article 13 law BUT it's not fully accepted yet since EU's higher members will negotiate about it behind closed doors at some point and last voting will happen in January so we still have a chance to make EU cancel this whole fucked up law in January.

I understand what you mean so don't worry. You pronounced it well :) I'm not sure about posting copyright things... And I think this would go even against fan arts. For example I couldn't draw and post art about Raphael (TMNT) because I don't own him. Kevin Eastman does. But yeah, this law sucks. And behind all this is MONEY. Big European corporations just want more money.

This is so serious that even human rights "group" has stood up against this since this limits peoples freedom. And this also is so serious thing it could be seen as a warn crime. Signing the petition has been good! Thank you for that. Tho there's still more time to fight. EU won this round but behind closed doors EU will negotiate about this law with higher EU members and in January 2019 the LAST voting will take place. If EU accepts this law then, it is pretty much bye bye all fandom / copyright pages (if I won't be able to access them via VPN) or if EU rejects this - then it would be so huge HURRAY and RELIEF!

So more petitions most surely will be created for EU to stop this nonsense so they can be signed for sure! And sending emails, at least inside EU, to MEPs. I was happily surprised that Finland's MEPs were against this Article 23 law, defending peoples freedom. Only 3 had voted for this fucked up law. Plus only NOW, at the evening, one new channel showed a new about EU accepting this law. They interviewed one of the MEPs and she said; "We really wanted to negotiate about this more. To find a better way to do this." I'm so happy our MEPs were so caring <3

That's bad, really bad, sorry for you, buddy. Hope everything will get better in January.

Prohibiting posting fanarts? What the hell are they thinking then? I don't understand it, I've always thought that fan works are helping to promote the source material to make it even more popular. How will people know about the fandoms without all these wonderful fan works? More fans means more popularity which means more freaking money for the owners! That's just plain stupid to lose such an opportunity.

Hope people will gather together and stop this ridiculous nonsense right away! Yeah, will shall fight for our rights! People deserve to make life happier and funnier with making and watching memes and fan arts!

I'm happy for you, Nei-Ning, thank goodness your country's government has sane people as their heads))) Anyway, good luck to you and never give up no matter what))) (sounds tritely but still...)

P.S. I really really sorry for the late reply, i was just too lazy and tired when i saw your reply at first.

Thank you, I hope so too! But until then I try not to stress and worry about this and focus on creating as much stuff as I possible can :)

Yeah, exactly what I have been thinking as well! But no, it seems none of that isn't enough for big corporations who, now, wants more money (from Youtube, Facebook etc.)

We no longer can't contact our MEPs anymore since EU accepted this law but we still can keep signing petition and spread word about it. There's SO MANY who don't know about this since news in EU don't mention about this at all - not beforehand at least. They say something small, with luck, about it afterwards when it's too late to act. That's why I have try to encourage people to spread a word about it, even those who don't live in EU, but it's so quiet. It seems people don't care.

That's what it was at first but now that I checked their voting they had totally turn around and voted for Article 13! Damn back stabbers! I have no idea WHY they changed their minds but I'm sure government / other people pushed them to change their voting / minds.

That's perfectly fine! As you can see I exactly don't reply all that quick myself, ahah! I'm usually quite lazy / tired to reply back instantly.
