Single Story Commission

Okay, I've been thinking of this for awhile. I've decided to try this out. I will be taking one commission, to see how well I can do. This won't be first come, first serve. I'll be choosing the idea I like best, though I am not sure how much to charge, so any suggestions will also be welcomed. Also, while not required, linking this journal would be nice, and might up your chances of being chosen.

I've been collecting stories set in my pet hard-SF setting, "New Attica"; if you're fond of that part of the solar system that's outside Earth's atmosphere, then we could try narrowing in on something we'd both enjoy.

(New Attica's reftext, stories, comics, and suchlike are available at http://www.datapacrat.com/sketches/ .)

As for prices - you'll probably be looking at a few dollars per thousand words; eg, ten dollars for two to three thousand words. If you're new and don't have a portfolio to show to your prospective customers, or if it's easy to find typos in what you write, then you'll likely have to go lower; if you've got a good number of stories to show off, and know how to rub your adjectives together to kindle a metaphor, you might be able to go higher.

Well Most all my stories, least my fetish ones, are here. So you can read through them to get an idea of what I can do. My grammar tend to not be the greatest, biggest trouble is my shifting tenses, but those that do enjoy my writting seem to over look that because of my creativity and how easily and naturally a story of mine flows.

I do enjoy sci if, even more if it involves that mousetaur variation of yours. :D

If you want to write about Dee as a taur, I'm sure we can figure out some sort of plot to drop her into. Eg, it hasn't yet been firmly established exactly how she did end up in her more recent, pillowier configuration, compared to the original 'taur design (which can be seen at http://www.datapacrat.com/sketches/FieldTest.html ). Or we could try something else - there are a few other stories currently being written by other people, one involving her membership in the local militia and dealing with an Incident; another dealing with her partial ownership of a robotic asteroidal fuel refinery and depot; and one that explores an interesting ramification of local technology. We could always try running the TVTropes story-idea generator ( http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/storygen.php ) a few times and see if any interesting ideas pop up... :)

As for tenses - as long as I get to give the final draft a once-over to make any needed corrections I can see, then that shouldn't be too much of a bother.

Well working with someone else's character; anyone will be very likely to see multiple drafts to make sure I am getting them right. So yeah, corrections won't be a problem.

As for the taur, It would seem to me that either A: it is a variation of her former taur look for when she wants to be sexy, and thus something she switches between easily or B: something else... I kinda had a second idea but I lost track of what it was lol.

Speaking of variations for a lower body prosthetic... StumpyCoon says he's happy to let me steal one or more designs from https://www.furaffinity.net/view/2367646/ ; and the be-tentacled one seems to offer some interesting possibilities. There isn't that much liquid water in space - but it is useful for many things, including as a five-meter-thick radiation-shield on the outside of a freefall bubble-station (eg, http://www.astrosurf.com/luxorion/Images/colonie-asgar... ), and some fun could certainly be had therein. :)

It could be interesting, yeah. Though I've never been really big on tentacles myself.

Hm... that might be because you don't know their secret: they're not supposed to be thrusting snakelike phalluses, they're delicate, sensitive, probing fingers and lips. I could forward you some links of real-life cephalopods using their tentacles in various ways, but it might be easier just to point you to the Pharyngula blog's collection, http://freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngula/category/scienc... .

No, I'm pretty sure it because I find them kinda sqiucky/creepy no matter how they are used. Its extremely rare for me to like things involving tentacles of any type.

Ah, fair enough. In that case, I can put that idea on the back burner for some other authour or artist to try, and we can go back to the 'taur-body that seemed to catch your attention. :)

For a random idea: Her 'taur prosthetic is large enough that, if she were feeling particularly feisty, and spent a hundred thousand bucks for the containment unit and another hundred thousand bucks for the cargo, she could walk around with a gram of antimatter inside her - enough to set off a 40 kiloton explosion, if she let it.

For another random idea - a further upgrade could allow her to get some use of her 'taur-body even when she's not attached to it, by turning it into a transformer - such as by building in some sort of retractable head that would take her normal body's place. Which could allow for a variety of interesting play and exploration of 'self' versus 'not-self'.

I think you lost me there...

That might be interesting.

No worries - like I said, random idea.

Alrighty, then, it sounds like we've got a potential theme - if you do decide to write a story for me, next up would seem to be to figure out a plot, and note down some potential details.

For example, I've been thinking that the robotic hand which first appeared in https://inkbunny.net/submissionview.php?id=170666 , and later in https://inkbunny.net/submissionview.php?id=213593 , could end up as something like a pet for Dee, which could also tie into this general premise.

One of the more important techs that we'd be playing with is the neural-interface tech, which can take sensations recorded from one body's input, and play them back to anybody wearing the proper interfacing gear. So, for example, if her body goes walkabout, and Dee accidentally left its settings to allow it to transmit over the network, then she might end up experiencing much of whatever its nonsapient AI programming leads it to do without having a chance to tell it to stop... and things could easily become much more complicated from there. :)

-=nods=- well I'm close to just going with you, as it seems no one else is even the smallest bit interested either here or FA. I doubt waiting any longer is going to give me any more replies that aren't yours.

There do seem to be all too few furs more interested in commissioning stories than pictures. :(

We can move to some form of private messaging to finish hammering out the details, if you'd like. And if any given site has troubles, you can always reach me at datapacrat@gmail.com .
