Ghibli Catchup

Okay, so I have this week off of work, so I've dedicated my days where I am not doing anything to watching several Ghibli movies in an row. Yesterday I ended up watching

Princess Mononoke - Pretty good, probably more impactful if I saw it around the time it first came out. It has an good story and visuals, I always love how Miyazaki does demons as well.

Grave of the Fireflies - I knew this one was depressing before going into it, but the level of how depressing it can be caught me off guard, I really appreciate the honesty of it however.

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind - This one caught me off guard, I really loved it, in fact it has shot up to Howl's Moving Castle with how much I love it. Definitely an great movie.

The Cat Returns - Less serious than the other selections, this one had me giggling muchly. I'd say if I ever wanted to watch another fun movie, then it'd be this one.

Then today I ended up watching

Whisper of the Heart - I really like this as an simple tale of young love, not much to it but it 's nice overall.

Tales from Earthsea - This one, also really caught me off guard witj how much I liked it. The animation wss one of the best I have seen, I will say. The story is super compelling as well. Right up there with Howl's Mpving Castle and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind for me.

Castle in the Sky - This one was good as well, an good story with animation that doesn't seem dated in the least, which kinda surprised me. I really like it.

Kiki's Delivery Service - Another good one, nice animation and story, though the end kinda made me sad an bit, but my understanding is that earlier versions had another line or two that made it slightly happier, but deviated more from the original script.

So yea, that is an lot of viewing. :3 The next two days I'll be going to the cinema, so I'll have to hold off viewing more, but I still plan on trying to catch up. I still have to watch for the first time

Lupin the III Castle of the Cagliostro
The wonderful world of Puss in Boots (just arrived today)
My Neighbors the Yamadas
Pom Poko
My Neighbor Totoro

And I'd also to get in rewatchs of

Spirited Away
Porco Russo
Ponyo

Since I haven't seen them in an long time. Plus, I still gotta eatch The Girl who leapt through time as well. :3 Definitely makes for an fun week off however.

the first time I watched Grave of the Fire Flies was with my brother when I was just 13... Oh my gods I cried so much >_<;; I was like "yay anime movie!" then I was like "wtf!!! stop!! no.. omg.. I hate this.. why!?" not hate the movie, but what happened >_<;;

Japanese voice for the cat in Kiki's Delivery service is so cute ^^
I really.. and I do mean REALLY love the Lupin the III Castle of Cagliostro. It is well animated, and just beautiful and keeps to the original anime.
I would seriously love to be watching those movies with a group of friends ^^

Grave of the Fireflies is really good. But it is a good idea to warn people just HOW depressing it is. It is still to this day the ONLY movie to EVER make me cry.

Lots of movies have made me cry, Grave of the Fireflies did not but sometimes I have to be in high emotional states to cry.
