What have I been up to? World building!

Been kicking around plot details for my orphan tower story idea and I started to think of the extended history and lore of the world it takes place in. I’ve been kicking around so many possibilities that I almost want to post chapters of a pseudo-history book to expand the lore. Think that might be interesting?

For those unfamiliar with the plot, orphan tower takes place in a fictional version of England in say the 30 or 40s. Originally I thought of calling it Angevia but I’ve started to preferring to call it Anglia. The world in which Anglia resides is pretty much similar to ours but with some key historical differences. One key point is that King Arthur actually exsisted in this history, and the Anglian monarchy is traced through the Line of Gawain, Arthur’s nephew.

Have any of you ever read The World of Ice and Fire? It’s sort of a fake history book about the world and history of game of thrones? That’s sort of my main inspiration for the framing device. Each chapter would cover a particular time period covering various subjects before subsequent chapters cover each of the crowned heads of Anglia up to the events of orphan tower. Might try to get a portrait made of each king/Queen if I can to go along with it.

I’ve been reading up a lot on Arthurian literature and studying up of the reigns of various English monarchs to formulate the right kind of characters, already got a new ideas in mind.
