Out of a job

Well, today, for the first time in years now, I had to register as unemployed, and after all this time of having something at least semi-stable, I really don't know what to do with my life.

I will probably have to look for a new job on my own, but in the meantime I want to be able to do the things i love as well, and if possible, make something out of that too. Probably gonna take up commissions to build myself a little bit of a rainy-day fund for the forseeable future, and jut hope I get takers. Anyone know any good advice on how to go about that?

the best way to do that is honestly grind. im a teacher and i have 3 months were i dont get paid so i have to do commissions to fill the void of income. patreon and donations helps too, or try ko-fi or something like that.

How do you go about setting up a donation fund/tip jar? Been rolling the idea around, seems better than setting up a patreon since I can't bring myself to be productive on a regular basis, and thus would make for a rather lousy creator on that site.

ko-fi would be the best bet since its not monthly and people can donate whenever they like. i haven't used it but i hear people saying its better than patreon. you could just set up patreon to be a tip jar too and have minimal rewards. tbh though the best way to get money if you're in need is to open up commissions and let your fans know what's going on and see if anyone is willing to help you out.

Go to a temp agency and fill out a resume and they can search for a good job for you,so milk that unemployment check.

Sorry to hear :(

For commissions I think setting up a price-sheet should be the first step.
Your style is certainly remarkable. No doubt you will find takers! :)

Wish you good luck at everything ^_^
