She-Ra the "Princess" of power.

She-Ra, aka Edora the twin sister of Adam, aka He-Man. This old Cartoon from the 80's did follow me for quite some time. I did even had toys from those. Including toys from the Wild Horde (which are part of the She-Ra universe, were sold together with the He-Man brandmark on it.)

Later they did do a remake of He-Man. It did look quite well and did explain where Skeletor came from. Who he atually were. Back then in the 80's I only did know that he was the bad guy. But not why this dude had a skull, but the rest of the body was allright.

However, now they did do a She-Ra remake. I first thought: Mmm, if it will be like the He-Man remake, it won't be that bad, right? Then I saw the first Picture of She-Ra and I did think: What? That shall be She-Ra? WTF? It looks like there was no real efford making her. She looks more tomboish. One I would even let enter the boys changing room, because I would think she would be a boy. While She-Ra looks like a grown woman, she rather looks like a girl.
We have this sort of bullshit allready with Powerpuff girls and Thundercats. Now comes next a Teenage Titans Go movie. WHY? The most people I do know didn't like TT-Go.
But back to the topic. Yeah, I am an old dude who did grew up with some sort. Yes I know if you remake stuff it won't look allways as good like the past version. But we also had versions of movies or cartoons which did show that they could get alot better.
May it be Lord of the Rings. May it be MLP (FiM). I do like the new MLP cartoon lots more then the old one. I don't even remember how the old MLP was. It was so boring that I didn't watch more then like 2 episodes.
Even though with She-Ra girls were adressed, I still did watch it. It had everything in it, what He-Man did have. And was also part of its universe. I had fun watching it back then. And even it had allways this Moral at the end (you had this all the time. May it be He-Man, She-Ra or Bravestar) It still was fun to watch.
Well, I will give She-Ra a little chance. Even though the design does fail, I hope with the stories they make it up.

I could guess that. After all this unsexy uncute tomboy-She-Ra was written by an unsexy uncute Tomboy.
Damn. This new She-Ra looks like I don't know. 13? The original She-Ra got her Sword when she was an adult. She was a high ranking officer of Hordak's army. You don't become a high ranking officer with 13. And even after leaving she still kept her leadership skills. Which made her powerfull either as She-Ra or as Edora. He-Man did hide his identity as a spoiled weak prince. Even though he also is high skilled, because he was trained by Man-at-Arms. Eternias Weapon Master. Showing that if it is needed, he also could fight.
In He-Mans remake there was still Adam and He-Man. I wonder if they keep that or if it will be 24/7 she-ra.
Episode 1 will appear in november.

Heh, I'll make a note to miss it. ;-)
I picked up a copy of Secondhand Lions at the Walmart $3.74 bin. Think I'll watch that instead.
Classic bar fight. ;-)

Ruining. Yeah. Why do people give them a platform. Back in my time we would have made fun of those and shamed them openly.

Cause corps see money in them, not knowing that SJW's is just another from of a hippie, yappie, 99% and such movements, they want to just complain about everything and will never stop cause they are getting attention in there useless life.  They ether don't have money or have no plans of spending money even if it is what they ask for, they just find some other reason to complain

You know, looking at it... I can't help but feel like they are trying to make it look like that anime style... and failing hard.

Also, what the hell, are those spandex bike shorts under her dress? Why bother with the dress then, it'd be easier to animate without it.
Those are the things that stand out the most to me from the bad design.

Hmm... and I've just made a PROFOUND observation; the animation style does not lend itself particularly well towards selling the show with still images -- perhaps the animation will look good (we can only hope), but a single frame cannot communicate that. Case in point, The Dragon Prince; each frame in the Netflix trailer looks really good, perfectly capturing some essence of traditional 2D animation... BUT it has a VERY choppy animation style that is an immediate detriment to the series, appearing as a consequence of the "2.5D" style as though it is playing like a slowly buffering video. I mean... the thing looks like it is straight up just missing all the in-between frames at this point.

In both cases, only time will tell, and I hope somehow the writing (and let's not forget acting) will make up for any art or animation discrepancies; but we cannot assume that even the head writer from Avatar is guaranteed to make a good story. There is no "I" in team, after all, and it does not inspire much confidence when a studio chooses to lead with an "I"...

Specially the story about her. She is an Orphan living with the wild horde. And recent pictures did show her with Cat-Girl Cat-ra, sitting next to each other, talking about problems. They look like early teenagers. So Edora finds the sword and becomes She-Ra. So she transforms from a like 13 year old to a 10 year old tomboy-something. And the fun part is, that most that don't like the new She-Ra are female. One may not forget that She-Ra was thought to be a hero for girls. Also the She-Ra toys were made for girls. A reason why the Wild Horde Toys were sold together with the Masters of the Universe Toys. As only vilian at the She-Ra franchise you had Catra. And fanpics of the new She-Ra look more femine then the actual one. LOL.

Yeah, I saw those pictures, which is what fueled my observation; the backgrounds are incredibly more detailed than the characters. While it is understandable that the animation needs to be simplified, it seems to make it way more obvious AND by comparison it looks... a little too simplified. I think some attempt at cel shading might have done wonders for it, though.

Oh, and I don't know anything at all about She-Ra, so when I read the description on imdb about "The Horde"... and seeing the internet backlash towards the reboot... I couldn't help but wonder if it was actually talking about THAT exactly, as if it were some commentary on it. The internet horde! Rofl. XD

I can't wait to see the She-Ra remake, getting info about the people behind it helps. Honestly anyone going up and arms about it I really can't take seriously and thankfully nobody on Twitter does. She-Ra didn't get that much appreciation back then so I don't see why should anyone be angry about what happens to her or her appearance (aside screaming about an "sjw agenda" for easy YouTube clicks), though I will say the animation style is... okay, but we have until the winter before we see what it will really look like.

As for the Teen Titans Go well alot of people don't see it and just judge the chibi looking cast so they don't know if it's even bad or not. Maybe that's why people are confused about it getting a movie, but eh one way to find out.
