Hey you guys.
Tonight's usually the night when I stream another chapter of Chrono Trigger for the SNES.
Unfortunately, my computer has decided to explode. My less than three-month-old computer had some kind of critical hardware failure (as indicated by the beep code that I and a technician looked up), which means that either the motherboard or the processor are toast. Possibly both! (oh my)
Thankfully, because the computer is so new, and because this is a known issue with this mobo-processor combo, this is covered under the manufacturer's warranty. So it's in the shop now, and it could take over a week for me to get it back. Much sadness.
In the mean time, Street Fighter X Tekken came out yesterday, and I've been playing it quite a bit. I like it a lot; it's a lot more fun and accessible than Super Street Fighter IV was. The execution ceiling is much lower, and even newbies can pull off good looking and damaging combos after about a half hour in the Trial mode for the characters of your choice. Practice makes perfect, after all. My team so far is King/Jin. In general, Tekken characters seem to have much longer and more damaging combos than the Street Fighter ones do. And, with few exceptions, look better, too.
If you like fighting games at all, you should pick it up, it's good fun.
I'll be posting about the status of my computer as I hear about it, so keep your peepers pointed this way.
Take care everyone,
