Marfin critic : ready player 1, Incredibles 2, EQ girls...

- Ready player one : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ready_Player_One_(film)
First, I haven't read the book but I've been told about it and watched a review by the Dom of it and it doesn't seem it would be something interesting to read. The movie improved on a lot of it (but failed on some, like every character but the main one) and is fun to watch, full of surprises and while some stuff don't make sense (the whole zeroing would keep a lot of people at bay, and the closing the whole internet for 2 days a week doesn't solve why the people use it for), it's what a video game universe should be about. 4,25 barks out of 5
Btw I watched it in a small theater that only shows movies when they are out of all others theaters, really nice cheap option I would like that in my town.

- Incredibles 2 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incredibles_2
A big disappointment. Not that it is a bad movie, but contrary to what the short of the actors telling you it was worth 14 years, it fell short for such a wait. The movie is super predictable, Mommy and I guessed everything from the moment they introduced one character, because it has been seen over and over. It feel like a DVD release. I expected more. 3, 25 barks out of 5
As a sidenote, I had a weird experience for this movie. We ended with front seats, so bad, but the chairs were super modern, with lots of room and able to lower nearly to an horizontal position, super comfortable. Really great stuff. I also had a really bad panic attack but that was because I was leaving Canada less than 12 hours later.

- Coco : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coco_(2017_film)
A really lovely and emotionnal movie, with great visuals, an interesting story, great music... it's clearly a copy of the book of love with a Disney budget and it shows. I had been quite disappointed in recent Disney movies (gods, Moana...) but this one was really good. 4 barks out of 5

- Aggrestuko : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aggretsuko
Made by the people who created and sold Hello Kitty, this show is quite a different take than the previously mentionned mouthless feline. It's a really nice show, full of interesting characters and plotlines (and I have totally no idea where they are headed with it, which make it feel more real). it's also super cute and original, you should give it a look. 4,5 barks out of 5

- Steven Universe season 5 : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Steven_Universe_e...
It's amazing on how the writers for that show are able to carry so much emotion, character development, involvement and a great plot in such a small time window. That kind of show just make you wish everybody was that good. 5 barks out of 5

- My Little Pony : Equestra girls Rollercoaster of friendship : http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/My_Little_Pony_Equestria_Gir...
It's a nice short movie (it feels like a double episode of a tv show, but those days, it seems all those EQ girls stuff feel like that) with good comedy, but sadly a bad villain and seen too often plot (basically, both are reuses from Movie Magic, a previous short movie). 3,5 barks out of 5

- Jumanji : welcome to the Jungle https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumanji:_Welcome_to_the_J...
A big surprise. I expected it to be as bad as Zathura and the joke about the players turning into stereotypical videogame characters would run flat pretty flat, but it wasn't. The Rock is great in his role, it's funny, nicely paced and paroding so much about videogames tropes. 3, 75 barks out of 5
- The death of Superman : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Death_of_Superman_(film)
Based on the same comic that was used for Batman Vs Superman : Dawn of Justice, this movie actually carry the tone, style and skill of the original comic so much better than the poor movie. It introduce a lot of characters, continue storylines from previous movies without cheapening anything. 4 barks out of 5

- Lego Aquaman : rage of atlantis https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego_DC_Comics_Super_Hero...
Aquaman has never been one of my favorite characters, and it seems every media has a different take on it, and he is so different in each that he is a totally new character each time (contrary to most characters, which are just variations on a theme). So, I can't really say anything about the portrayal of the main lead. It's otherwise a funny, if not original, little story, that will make you smile. 3 barks out of 5

- The Hollow : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hollow_(TV_series)
A surprise show we discovered in Canada, it's a bit predictable and unoriginal in parts, but it does works a lot on taking a different spin on clichés and reused ideas to surprise and entertain you. I can't really say a lot more without spoiling stuff, so I'll just say I give it 4 barks out of 5

- Dresden files : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dresden_Files
I listened to the audiobooks Storm Front, Fool's moon and Summer Knight (yes, I listened to mommy and she confused the order, so I missed Grave danger) and I always imagine now Dresden as being the actor who played Spike from Buffy. The audiobooks are good quality, and the stories were really nice. I quite enjoyed Storm Front, and the quality has only been improving with each book (I really look forward to get more in my paws). I would give Storm front a 3,5 barks, Fool's moon a 3,75 and Summer Knight a 4.

- Krypton : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krypton_(TV_series)
This serie has ups and downs a lot, a convoluted storyline and a bad pacing. I had a hard time going through it, and honestly, some characters are really not interesting (Adam Strange totally do not sound like the character have seen before, he is like a Booster Gold with a different name). I really don't know where they are going and at times, it feel they don't either. 2 barks out of 5

- Lego Black panther : troubles in Wakanda https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego_Marvel_Super_Heroes_...
Really classical but funny lego tv show. Not really much to say about it. 2,75 barks out of 5

- Tomb raider (2018) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomb_Raider_(film)
The more realistic tone, more modern techniques and good main actress are served with a by the number plot, predictable stuff and real lack of originality. It's a good flick to spend time on a plane. 2,5 barks out of 5

- A wrinkle in time https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Wrinkle_in_Time_(2018_f...
This movie is all over the place and end being convoluted, confusing and bland. It has some good ideas, but it never delivered on it. I mean, the male interest do nothing at all all movie long and I'm not fully even sure what the movie was about. 1,5 barks out of 5

- Supergirl season 3 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supergirl_(TV_series)
The quality of the show has a bit gone down, as they get their storylines a bit confused and this one feel dragged on for way too long. Still, it's full of nice ideas, good acting and refreshing stuff. 3 barks out of 5

Ok 2 things.

1: They didn't shut down the Internet for 2 days. they shut down the OASIS for 2 days.

2: Its not The Book of Love, its the Book of Life

The Oasis is the Internet in their world. I wanted to pointed out that detail so my point was clearer.

Yeah, you're right, sorry for the typo.

I suppose that is in some cases true, but I don't think the film addressed that the Oasis is STRICTLY the internet.
