Silly suggestions for the Fuf and ambitions.. maybe?..ugh..

by
Hello sweetlings!

I'm quite frankly not having the happiest of times and I could use some distractions but I'm running out. Been saving on the official podcast n Jarcast but they'll run out and those music compilations are running out of special songs. ;-;

What youtube channels do you frequent, whatcha listen to? I'm always on the lookout for silly podcasts, I enjoy movie reviews, metal is nearly my only genre for music, debates, intriguing conversations and whatnot are quite preferred by me too.

I'm also curious! To all you video editors, animators and other skilled peeps out there; what program would you recommend for combining gifs and putting some music over it? What programs do you use/prefer? I've been itching to try making something more ambitious, maybe a 'short' video clip to a song or the like. Something more Fuf inspired and not really trying to please anyone. Just for fun. :x Who's on board with some animated power metal? How long before copyright claims would take it down from youtube? ;w;

I guess that's all. Sorry for being silent n not quite on par with myself. I want to do my best but I'll just do what I can for now.

Love you guys! <3

PS.: Not gonna kill myself, not doing anything stupid, nobody died ,I'm just depressed at this point, hurting and having difficulties in life.

Good day!

Some of the Youtube Channel's I watch on a daily basis are: WatchMojo, MsMojo, GamerZakh, Techmoan, CygnusDestroyer, GameSack, bigclivedotcom, FBE, React, list25, Be Amazed... to list a few. CinemaSins is always good for a laugh!

Hope you day gets better and love your art work!

If you're looking for listening material or things to zone out to...maybe its not quite in anyones' wheelhouse but Northernlion has a stupidly large backlog of stream vods on youtube that are usually pretty podcast-esque (with exceptions)...the humor might at times be juvenile but I like it for kind of background entertainment or before going to bed.
Fuf
Fuf

I'll check it out, thank you!
I don't mind the occasional 'juvenile humor'. Some of the people I watch either act more serious or get goofy seldom borderline cringy. That's what I likes. uwu ~

I highly recommend Northernlion's NLSS's, which are basically hilarious podcasts with video games in the background

Let's see, GamerZakh plays a lot of older PC video games, it is actually somewhat entertaining. Brings back a few childhood memories. Techmoan is a good one if you like older technology (tape decks, record players, etc), there is some interesting stuff out there. CygnusDestroyer and Gamesack are good if you like to watch about older video games, they can be pretty funny. Bigclive takes apart electronic things, it is pretty interesting, sometimes makes things as well. FBE and React is pretty entertaining wo watch. You have kids, teens, college kids, adults, and seniors reacting to different things. List25 and Be Amazed give you lists of interesting things. Some of these I sort of just have on while I am surf the net or such, good background noise and to listen too!

You tube:  The Great War and Forgotten weapons primarily.
Music:  Oldies  mostly (Grew up in the 60's), recently though I've been listening to Sabaton and Ghost.
Fuf

Oldies are goodies although they can get repetitive real fast too if not mixed with other subgenres. I like a few songs from the older classics but I mainly prefer later bands.
JunkBox

If you like the oldies but want to mix in newer stuff, Postmodern Jukebox might be worth a listen.

Fuf

What are they like? :x
SplendidTheHybrid
5 years, 9 months ago
Blitz and CaptainSauce and EMBeaR play videogames and are pretty fun and funny to watch.
Matthias has a few channels, some of it is gaming, some of it is funny item reviews, some of it is destroying and smashing stuff in fun ways.

Old Hickory Forge has a hunky former military country boy that forges blades and tools and stuff, makes fun things, I like him cause he gets to the point, shows you how to do it, and he's cute.

michaelcthulhu does something similar, except that he makes absolutely massive weapons and stuff from video games, and he generally just cuts the parts out of sheets of metal, rather than forging them and anvilling them and such.

What kind of heavy metal do you listen to?
Fuf

All subgenres, really. It's a mood thing but I can almost always get into symphonic speed, power or black. Quite the contrast but looove 'eem. ;w;

Have you considered using Spotify to listen to metal bands? As far as black metal bands go, I imagine you probably already know the album "In the Nightside Eclipse" by Emperor. If you're willing to give it a shot, there's a digital hardcore band that's like a pop, electronic, metal, punk fusion called "Rabbit Junk" that you can find on Bandcamp.

I'm not really sure how many silly podcasts I know. Maybe look at the Ricky Gervais Show.

Perhaps you could go more into detail about intriguing conversations and debates?
Like I can think of YouTube channels that do video essays.

I like to watch a group called LoadingReadyRun.
They do all kinds of things. Streaming video games, playing board games, podcasting, comedy skits.
They have 2 YouTube channels, LoadingReadyRun and LoadingReadyLive.
The 'Live' channel is them rebroadcasting their streams.

Eeeh I am veery iffy with anime. ;w;' I can adore good stuff but most of it just annoys me a ton and I'm really sick of the tropes.. Do you know good drama, mindfuck or what you feel is a must watch story or artstyle-wise? I'd be on board with those. O:
hinguckah
5 years, 9 months ago
Sadly no since i don't watch drama or mindfuck stuff.
BUT i heard a lot of great things about "Made in Abyss" wich looked gorgeous but too dark for my tastes. It gets dark enough that i felt sad just hearing a synopsis of some characters stories.

If like anime you have bennetthesage that reviews dubbed ones. game and film theory for theory and science stuff including Science!. Oxhorn for fallout series lore and some other stuff. Linkara for comic reviews. AVGN for oldschool games but he's not very active anymore, but then Mike that helps james alot does a bunch of streaming still. Nostalgia Critic for movie reviews and other stuff on channel. Do watch some others but they are political humor and news stuff. Not exactly mood helping things.
Fuf
Fuf
5 years, 9 months ago
Aaah I’m really not a big fan.. ;-;  Unless it’s artsy or intriguing with some cool drama I tend to give animes a pass. The tropes and cliche stuff really got stale to me and just piss me off by now..

I used to watch a ton and still keep an eye on AVGN, I am rather fond of both him and Mike, they're lovely! I used to listen to Nostalgia Critic a lot too. Him n his team are lovely peeps, but to me the screaming got annoying..  I’ve gotten used to styles like YMS, IHe, raplhthemoviemaker, RedLetterMedia and prefer those a lot more.

Yeah I getcha. I seldom listen to a few things here and there but sometimes I just prefer that yummy ignorance more. -w-'' Politics can be interesting though if an argument is civil and the clashing opinions have good points. I've found 2 dudes who seemed promising at first in a funny kinda sense; LibertyHound and that dude who became a meme with the 'change my mind' shtick, but they lost that effect quick and I abandoned these altogether. ;w;''
starlyte

NC doesn't scream anywhere near as much anymore. Course he never really did too much only when a movie really peeved him off. As for politics really only two I watch are john oliver and stephen colbert Used watch daily show but eh trevor just doesn't do it for me.

For listening, I watch lots of Let's Players and video reviewers. Of the former, Roahm Mythril, raocow, and Chuggaaconroy all have very soothing voices and upbeat personalities and tend to play pleasant games. For the latter, none come to mind immediately for putting someone in a good mood.

For editing videos by putting GIFs to music, I use Windows Movie Maker. It's not the best, but it comes free with Windows XP or Vista computers and that's why I use it. No experience with any others.

If you want some interestin, thought provoking stuff, you could go with Bearing or Armored skeptic (if you want a good laugh as well), but if you want straight up intellectual political and social commentary, you could try Sargon of Akkad. I'll warn you though, some of his stuff can get a bit dry.

Something  a bit more entertaining never hurts but I'd be open to more political stuff too I think. I am not the most knowledgeable on a lot of topics and it could be food for thought! ~
I used to listen to a lot of sceptics, atheists, scientists, etc. but those sorts of debates could often go wrong. :T Sometimes really entertaining, sometimes wince-worthy.

Well, I dunno if you'd be interested, but I like listening/watching Cody's Lab, a neat little chemistry/ science channel. He does all sorts of stuff besides that including gardening and beekeeping. You could also try a+start if you are into video games, as he's got a long series of glitch videos. Hmm...not sure what to suggest, I watch lots of stuff. If you want metal, xheck out Command and Conquer Red Alert 2's OST. Lots of good metal tracks on it (at least I think of them as metal)

I highly recommend https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9bMgCQyFNaMPsK9GtzM5dQ The JiveTurkey.  More of a gamestreamer than a podcast, but his streams are decently long and he has a wealth of submarine knowledge and sea stories that keep things interesting.

5 years, 9 months ago
Watch some Alan Becker videoes. He hasn't made a lot, but he has made some quality vids, and they're more than worth the watch. Good only for short-term distraction though, but still great. My personal favorite is in his Minecraft shorts series where they characters discover note blocks.
Nonfinite

I tend to gravitate to stuff like Jon Bongly's mixes and electroswing (ESC, ESE). Ben Briggs has some pretty good tracks for pulling yourself together. Monstercat Instinct has also been a staple lately. Plenty more recommendations if you like any of those, but I suspect our music tastes are fairly different.

If you want silly podcasts, Dice Funk is good for D&D-based comedy nonsense. It's edited more like a radio drama than a real play podcast which makes it much more listenable IMO. S1 is pretty rough, I'd recommend starting with S2 or later as they're all standalone.

Tom Scott's Lateral is an excellent little six episode gameshow that came out recently. Very good for just distracting your brain for ~20 minutes at a time.

Hope things get better, I very much empathize; these are not easy days.

Most of what I watch, other people mentioned already.  But I'm in gaming videos that were streamed on Twitch first on Mad Matt's channel https://www.youtube.com/user/MadMattInc1 along with another of my friends that streamed her own P.O.V.  The reason I mention his channel is he does 8 bit remixes of music on there.  Browse through, see if you like any, if you just want to listen to funky 8 bit music, here's a playlist of over two hundred of his videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZSIvzC7lZc&list=PL... and if you see any videos with a Barry in them, that's me.  Not in that last playlist though.

From podcasts, pretty much the only one I listen to lately is Please Stop Talking Podcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1LpNC2yPRYaXhEH8H8n1FA

It's kinda weird 'cause it's not exactly about anything specific, bunch of dudes sharing their wacky adventures. And they did have A LOT of wacky adventures. Great fun though! I had a lot of laughs from every episode.

Awwr... Sorry to hear that things aren't all peachy for you.

If you do like cheerfully silly rambling presentations about famous things, Karl Smallwood isn't so bad.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OR_qUOe60A

and for a little metal? I kinda enjoy FrogLeap Studios / Leo Moraccioli... Goofy metal renditions of... Well, lots of stuff :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNENVZFHutQ

And yeah, fully animated power metal sounds fun :) As far as software goes, though, I wouldn't know where to start... Especially if you don't want to pay for it.

But yeah, I hope things cheer up for ya... Your art does often cheer me up, so you deserve a little of it back ;)

If you were on PC I'd suggest Windows Movie Maker to start with - MacOS appears to have iMovie - for free, I think? It should be able to create slideshow-style movies with music tracks. (But be careful about the settings you use if uploading non-free tracks to YouTube.)
Fuf
Fuf
5 years, 9 months ago
Sadly iMovie is quite the pooper.. Can't add complete gifs, no good settings for duration if I were to frame-by frame and it's very inconvenient with its layout. I'm gonna have to do some digging before I get my hopes high.

I did some reading on the whole copyright fiasco. It's pretty 50-50 , mostly depends on wether you get targeted or not; a lot of people get away by choosing some standard youtube license setting and by crediting the artist. Not quite the most popular band in my case and I'd looove to promote them or give them exposure for that reason, but I do admit I'm a little spooped. ;w; Worst case scenario the animation could be standalone. It could still have value that way. -w-

I enjoy the podcast "Hello From the Magic Tavern".  It's silly.  It's a lot of improv (but good improv) so it can be kind of random but I'm amused at the moments when someone makes a statement and another person calls them on it, basically forcing them to improv to elaborate.. there's a slight pause as the person mentally curses the other one.. a silent "you motherfucker".. hah

It's basically "earth human falls through a portal into a magical land".  There's wizards, shapeshifters, lots of butthole jokes.

As far as Podcasts go, RoosterTeeth's Off Topic would be my go-to, followed by FunHaus's Dudesoup. They're both fairly interesting and amusing. Those two channels are usually what I watch especially when I'm feeling like shit- Something about them really helps make me happier and has seriously pulled me through some tough times.
As for metal. I've been amassing a metric fuck-ton of good stuff... Too much to leave here, but I'll happily comprise a list and send you a PM later.
Also, you know if you ever need someone to talk to, or even just an ear to listen or vent to, you can always send me a PM and I'll be more than happy to offer a helping hand or friendly smile.
I hope things start looking up for you, miss <3

I love penguinz0 on youtube and the Official podcast too. Fucking hilarious. Critical Roll is a DnD podcast thats really cool. I didnt listen to the first campaign though, the second one is going on right now. Anonymoose makes great and hilarious SFM animations. If you like space and astronomy, then Astronomy cast is great. The Cyanide and Happiness podacst, Here's An Idea, is pretty funny too. Welcome to Nightvale is weird, but interesting.

I'm a bit of a metal head myself....mostly doom and speed metal, but I listen to other stuff as well.  Here's a few bands I've fallen in love with, that many people don't seem to know about:

Witchcraft (The Swedish band)

The Sword

Pentagram
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iu3XcULf_E

Orange Goblin (recent discovery for me, how did I miss this?)

And of course my favorite underrated band:
Type O Negative
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppbejSaGG9k

For podcasts I love Last Podcast on the Left.  I'm also a huge fan of Joe Rogan, but only when he's talking to a guest I'm interested in listening too.

Edit: I tried to make links for all of those, but for some reason they aren't showing up.  Doh.
