Computer Errors

I stepped away from my computer for a few minutes since my sister was watching anime in the other room, when i came back to it, it read "your computer has encountered an error. it is gathering information and then it will restart" i'm paraphrasing. i was panicked, i don't like computer problems, it does it's restart and then a message pops up on a command prompt stating there is no operating system on the hard disk and that one needs to be installed. I shut the computer off and then turned it on and then here we are, the computer works okay-ish, i don't know if there's anything further wrong with it but it has me worried to say the least.

Sometimes when my drawing tablet causes my computer to go what I call "squirrel nut zippers", I shut everything down, then restart it, then it works fine.

I do have my drawing tablet plugged in all the time so maybe that and my flash drives are the problem?

Sounds like a run-of-the-mill Blue Screen to me.

Make a backup of your important stuff just to be sure, but it's unlikely to be a recurring problem.

I don't keep anything on this computer at all, everything that is important to me is saved on flash drives ^w^ so in a way they're backed up, but i can't access them without a computer =/

If all your important stuff is backed up, then I wouldn't worry about this one event.  Sometimes a glitch will restart the machine, and you may have to cut the power for fix it (a reboot may not be enough).  You only have to refresh your PC if won't start up at all (no matter how times you cycle the power).
